Exceeded expectations.
I walk everywhere rain or shine and needed a pair of shoes for when weather was wet, such as heavy snow or rain. These shoes work pretty well for that, while being surprisingly comfortable enough to use as general purpose footwear. In the sock-shoe department, Randy sun goes more towards shoe-like, but the result is worth it; a fairly versatile piece of footwear that's ready for all-weather. Notes: - They recommend using an insole and I second that; if nothing else to help insulate your foot in cold weather. Without one your foot is going to become cold once the rubber is cold. I chose to use a small flat foam one that complemented the general firmness of the sole, works great! Maybe use an insole like a thin North Sole if you like something firmer. -They hold up well to rain/snow/puddles. Your feet will stay dry. -They are actually big for their sizing. I tend to wear a 10.5 4E in USA sizing, and these only go up to 10. Much to my surprise, they are a perfect fit, not too tight, snug, secure and my toes even have space at the front. -They clean off easily enough; you can just wipe down the outside with a damp sponge to get splatter off. -You should wear socks with them to keep the inner from becoming sweaty with repeated use. -Windproof and breathable, your feet don't feel stuffy in them, but a strong gust of wind won't cut through them either, great for winter. -Traction is pretty good, while I did manage to slip on ice, I didn't slide far and kept my footing. You're able to keep a lot of contact with the ground because the soles are flexible, but the tread pattern works against you on smooth, slick surfaces. Utilize caution if you're walking on lots of ice, or freshly mopped tile.

Great for trails, I wouldn’t climb a mountain in them though
Used on 13 mile hike (very low elevation gain) in New England during November. Pack weight sub 20lbs. The hike was in and out of the coast, these worked pretty great. Completely waterproof, medium warmth. I paired them with wool socks I had. Incredibly easy to put on and take off as well. If you’re into barefoot shoes these are decent width, but I could not fully splay my toes in them. The traction is ok but don’t expect to be blown away. Since there is no lacing system to keep the foot in place you may slide around inside the shoe, not horribly but if you’re climbing anything you will probably notice. TLDR; Great for a day of walking on easy trails. I would not do a high elevation gain hike with these. Worth $40 all day long imo

A must for fun on the water!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these. I got them for an Alaskan fishing trip to wear on the boat. They are so comfortable better than hurky-jerky rubber boots. They also keep your feet nice and dry and warm; yet, not too hot if it happens to be warm. They also work great for kayaking. I would recommend to everyone! They fit perfectly.

Hard to get on.
I bought these for my 11 year old son who would prefer to always be barefoot however he needed something for cold wet weather. He does say they are comfortable but they are really hard for him to get on. He has not used them in water yet so I can’t comment on how waterproof they are.

Great waterproof minimalist boots for extra wide feet!!
I wear a women's size 8.5 shoe usually, in the widest width - usually 2E width. Finding good fitting shoes is a nightmare, finding good fitting minimalist shoes even moreso. I like I take frequent walks in minimalist shoes - there's a lot of science now backing up the theory that too structured of shoes allows your foot musculature to atrophy, which leads to instability and possible later foot issues that are virtually unheard of in lesser developed countries that don't utilize structured shoes (planar fasciitis, arch problems, etc.). Your feet have a ton of complex muscles and bones. They're meant to move. When you walk on uneven terrain in very structured shoes, what you're doing is paralysing your feet and making areas further up the kinetic chain absorb that movement (your knees, your hips, your spine). I don't want to actually walk barefoot, however, because I don't want to worry about tearing my feet up on glass, stones, sticks, acorns, briars etc. Weirdly and irritatingly, minimalist shoes - while growing in popularity, certainly - still tend to be outliers, harder to find, carried but fewer brands, and worst, more expensive than typical shoes. In the summer I have gotten around this by wearing water shoes. If it's been raining though, ugh, I hate the feeling of my feet getting soaked. Minimalist boots are expensive as heck and few and far between. These boots finally tick the boxes for me. They're very flexible, minimalist soles, but sturdy enough to protect my feet. They're easy enough to slip on, accommodating to my wide feet, and best of all, waterproof!!!! I find them not comfortable to wear without socks than with, ymmv. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these, they're great, especially for the price. Happy hiking!
