Bought through Amazon prime, the device was delivered the same day it was ordered. The instructions which came with it were pretty basic but did give all the information you need to start using it straight away. Some of the temperatures seem a bit low to me, but time will tell whether my gut instinct is right or if I should be more trusting.After delivery I got an e mail from the seller with a PDF guide on using the device which had much more information that what was enclosed in the package. That was a nice touch. Another nice touch was the spare probe which was also sent - in case the first gets damaged, lost or just needs cleaning.What is not quite as good: there were no batteries included. Fortunately I had a couple of AA batteries knocking around - it takes 2. Also, the display is a bit small and I find it not very bright, which makes it a bit difficult to read, especially in a bright kitchen. Also the display shows fingerprints quite clearly, making the display harder to read. I wonder if the batteries I have used might be causing that. That said, once I am used to it I won't need to read it much.I've only used it once so far and I wasn't convinced that the chicken was cooked when the probe said it was, as it seemed to be much quicker than normal, so I left it a bit longer. As it turned out, it was probably fine when the alarm went offshore note to self, start cooking the meat a bit later and trust the probe a bit more.What I did like was there were 2 temperature displays. The left hand one shows the preset temperature. The right hand one shows the temperature of the item being cooked, so you can see progress.It can also be used as a straightforward timer, but as my oven and hob both have their own timers, I don't think it'll get much use as that

I purchased this for my dad for Fathers Day. Although early, we've used this product today.Just quickly explain why I've rated this 4 stars, the pictures depicts that this is a stainless steel unit, however it isn't, it's a white unit.However, this product does exactly what it says on the tin.It comes with 1 probe for insertion into the meats, and also a spare probe.As described the unit is touchscreen, and this enables you to select between different types of meats, and different cooking levels.You can then chose whether you'd like the unit to measure times or alert you when the meat has reached the correct temperature.Extremely pleased with this, and would recommend to anyone who was looking for a similar product.

Useful little device and very easy to use. Only improvements would really be for the backlight to stay on a little longer after each keypress and for it to have a stand so that it could stand on a worktop rather than needing to be attached by the magnets. Nothing really that causes any problem with its use. Having preset temperatures for different meats is really hand. Our previous digital kitchen thermometer - (which I dropped and broke the LCD display) - didn't have this feature. Display is very easy to see, and not too bad even when the backlight does go off. Timer is useful (can never seem to have too many timers in the kitchen!). Overall, a great little gadget for the price.

Thought it was broken when I first got it out the box, put the batteries in and plugged in the probe. Where the temperature should be it just displayed an error code, but on reading the instructions this is a known issue and just requires you to move the probe connector until it shows a reading. After this first problem I thought it was fixed but I have been cooking with it for a while now and it is happening every time I cook. A bit disappointed at this slight flaw as the software is very well thought out and the company "Allyproducts" seem very helpful and keen to please.

Great service from the supplier.Have now used to product over several BBQs and it makes food so much tastier not having to overcook them "just to make sure".I find the speed of registering the temperature when inserting quite good, and the ability to leave it in place during cooking very useful.

Reads temperature OK and probes are fine but badly designed display. You can hardly read it unless you touch the display, then it lights up for 5 seconds only. The problem is that you have to touch over the button area to light up the display which then changes the settings. To use as a timer you have to flip the switch on the back of the unit which is inconvenient if you have attached it to the oven by the magnet. Temperature is not displayed when switched to timer and vice versa. Timer stops when you switch over to check temperature. Would not recommend this product

Excellent little product which takes all the guess work out cooking your meat perfectly.Easy to use with different meat species ready programmed with the ability to program your own desired temp.It has the ability to show either °C or °F which is really good but the down side is that it reverts to °C when switched off and restarted.You will need to supply your own AAA batteries, shame they weren't included but you do get a spare temp probe which is good as if you exceed the temp range for them they ummmm... stop working!Spare probes are available here  Spare Probe for Perfection Meat Oven BBQ Grill and Smoker Digital Thermometer-Instant Read Meat Thermometer With Oven Probe-Touchscreen Kitchen Cooking Thermometer  for only £3.50The built in magnets come in really handy for positioning the device while cooking, while not very strong they do the job.All in all a good product which I would recommend.
