The good stuff - apparently.
I'm told (by my other half... I am a wretched failure as both a Brit and a South Africa and don't drink tea) that this is the only tea that doesn't taste like "twigs and sticks" when you forget your cup and leave it to cool. Makes Yorkshire Gold taste like swill. Sigh. Looks like I'm going to have to keep forking out for the stuff. I can say it draws well, usually... seeing as I'm the tea maker, even if it's all "twigs and sticks" to me.

Best gift for expat South Africans
When you’re far from home, sometimes a little taste that reminds you of there is what is needed. Went down a treat both in terms of the tea and the memories it brought back.

It's 5 Roses, nothing else to say.
I gave it 4 stars not because it's a bad but purely because it's not the African blend which for some reason Amazon don't sell.

Five Stars
I have been drinking this tea for some years now, since I had previously lived in South Africa. I have recently moved to the UK and I have found this tea hard to beat. Tea is a subjective thing, like most 'tastes', so I will try and describe Five Roses Tea, as best I can. It has a slight 'nip' to it. I am not sure how this flavor is achieved, but I find some teas without 'bite' a little bland. The color is deep and rich and the aroma is lovely. I have even tested myself by sipping various teas blindfolded. (Yes I know extreme, but I am a tea lover). The only way to find out how it tastes is to try it and see if you like it yourself. I have ordered this tea twice from Amazon the first time it arrived very quickly, the second not so quick at all. So delivery time is hit and miss I reckon.

The aroma brings back childhood memories and I enjoy every single drop
I don't drink tea that much and go months without drinking tea. I purchased Five roses tea last week and I have had 3 cups of tea everyday since I got it. The aroma brings back childhood memories and I enjoy every single drop. Best tea ever!

Atrocious DO NOT buy
DO NOT waste your money on this Five Roses product utterly flavourless, no wafting aroma! I used drink this in Zimbabwe and South Africa from when I was young and it was a premium product. The aroma is so nostalgic. I am going to throw this in the bin as I don't know what's in it! To make it worse you can't return for hygiene reasons. So be warned!

Delicious
Although I am a Rooibos addict, I just adore this 5 Roses tea. These are the only two teas I drink. The taste and aroma of Five Roses.....anyone who has lived in South Africa knows how delicious this tea is.

Five Roses Ceylon tea is exactly what I was looking for in an everyday tea. The 102 tagless teabags make it easy to brew a strong, flavorful cup without dealing with strings or tags, and the Ceylon taste is smooth and balanced, not too bitter or astringent. I appreciate that it’s simple and classic — no unnecessary frills, just a good quality tea that works well with or without milk and sugar. It brews quickly and consistently, and the aroma is pleasant and comforting. The pack size is generous and great for regular use at home or in the office. I’ve been drinking this daily and haven’t had any bitterness, even when I let it steep a bit longer. Overall, this is a great value for a reliable, good-tasting tea. I’ll definitely buy it again.

Nothing beats good old South African tea.the taste is good and strong. Real proper tea. Very enjoyable if you a tea lover and like a good tea. Colour is dark as tea should be. It has caffeine but most good teas have a that. I feel when I drink five roses it feels like home. It's well worth the dollers for the real deal.

Not sure you know, but PG Tips changed their blend and their bag! They are also a subsidiary of lipton (or something of that sort). Well, now their tea tastes like lukewarm water. I have always been a fan of 5 roses, but now that I have switched, I am loving it more every day. It has a very nice malty aftertaste and I look forward every day to a cuppa! Better priced than PG too. Brew longer than normal, it doesn't turn bitter like many of the other brands and only gets better. I am sitting at about 7-8 minutes, 1 bag per person + one for the pot and you can't go wrong. Brew it in a Brown Betty and its game on!
