Compact rasp
This rasp is quite expensive compared to similar but it's worth the extra as does the job really well the metal rasp is of a very high quality compared to cheaper.. I use it to smooth shape and lightly trim my barefoot ponies one welsh A and my more heavier shire cross

Excellent bit of kit
A brilliant little rasp. I just stick it in my pocket and it's there ready for trimming the rough edges off the feet of the ponies living out on the moors once I've hiked up to see them. Also, very useful for training the youngsters when getting them used to having their feet dealt with, a much gentler motion than a full rasp.

Good enough for between farrier visits
This wee tool keeps Sid's hooves in good shape between farrier visits, as he doesn't wear shoes. I use boots instead of shoes as we mostly ride on the beach or in fields, so keeping his hooves tidy means the boots will last longer too.

Genius product! Why have I been struggling with just straight rasps all these years?!
This is a thing of wonder for me! It is so much easier to use than a long straight rasp and is a lot less intimidating to a horse. My horses are used to me approaching them with the long rasp, but I think that horses that aren't yet used to the rasp will be a lot less concerned about this as it just sits within the hand. My 3 didn't seem to even realise I was holding a rasp in fact. What I love about it most is that it creates a Mustang Roll (a nice curved shape to the outer edge that enables a horse to move over their feet smoothly) really easily and effortlessly. With a long straight rasp, you have to really work at it with the rasp angles to create the curve and it is hard to get right and an even curve. With this, the rasping just happens in the right shape I found.A straight rasp is still needed for the heels, but for the main curve of the hoof wall, this is ideal I think.

Just what I needed
This rasp is excellent. I don't like using a flat rasp - I tend to injure myself. This is a good shape for maintaining the barefoot trim between visits from my trimmer who tried it out and wholeheartedly approves. Says it produces a good curve but would find it hard to remove too much hoof. It is also very good for smoothing out chips and vastly better than my previous Riders rasp.

Excellent rasp. Sharp and easy to use
Excellent rasp. Sharp and easy to use. Strong magnet keeps it in place on hoofstand. My barefoot horse (he lives out) does not mind me using it. A quick rounding of the edges of his hooves (as needed - maybe once a week) prevents and removes any cracking / splitting between the 6-weekly trims.
