This bird bath warmer works very well in cold weather. No freezing of the water and the water does not getwarm. The squirrels love it as well as the birds

Best I've Found So Far; Concerned What Might Happen if It Goes Dry
The first one I received had a cracked side, so I exchanged it for another that arrived undamaged. The weather was nasty and rainy, so I tested it inside. I was a bit alarmed when I plugged it in and felt heat in the bowl shortly afterwards, since our house is warm enough that I would not have expected a thermostatically controlled bird bath to need heat. I then filled it with water, and after 15 minutes the water did not feel warm, but I do not know why that is so. I'm a little concerned now what might happen outside if I forget to check it and it goes dry. I have a Shaledig heated bird bath that looks identical to this one which I have been using for two weeks. We haven't had any very cold weather since then, but everything is okay as far as I can tell. I have been careful to keep it full of clean water.I like very much that it can sit on the ground using the feet, but it seems a little tippy. Four feet instead of three, or feet with a larger footprint, would work better. It would also help if the portion where each foot screws in was deeper, so that the feet could be used to level the birdbath on uneven ground. The insertion holes are too shallow to allow much adjustment. Perhaps having a support frame that the feet can screw into, and that the bowl could be lifted out of for cleaning, would help too. I was afraid a large bird, such as a dove, would land and tip it over, so I took the feet off and placed the bowl on four bricks which I levelled. The bottom of the bowl is flat and the cord comes out the side, so this was not hard to do.I'm not thrilled with the color. Something more earth toned or black would blend in with the landscape better. This birdbath sticks out like a sore thumb in our yard. I also wish it had a grounded plug. This is used outdoors and with water. It should be grounded.I've been looking for a long time for a good heated bird bath. This one isn't ideal, but it and the Shaledig are the best I've found so far.

arrived broken
Unfortunately, I was unable to use it. I had to send it back because the blue plastic bowl portion arrived broken/ small piece cracked off. Not sure if done in the shipping process or manufacturing. Was disappointed.

hope it's thermostatically controlled
the center metal piece broke off while I was screwing it in. I wanted this particular bird bath because it had that center attachment option. And now it is unusable. I want to return it but can't find any contact information on the item.

Heats water a -9
We tried this out in our backyard here in Minnesota, so you know we get cold. I set out the Tetuga Heated Bird Bath during a warm spell temps around 28*. The cord for the electric is about 2 1/2 ft long, which then I put on an outdoor extension cord to the outlet. I also put a weather proof electrical connection box to protect the plugs from water, and a good way to keep the connection together. The heated bird bath comes with 3 ways to use, 3 legs that can be screwed on to stand alone, clamp mount for decks, or pole mount (for wooden pole attachment). I have put the Bird Bath in a terracotta pot that I have placed an insulted foam board shelf inside of, to level, and keep the warmth of water more controlled. Set up is easy along with cleaning, and refilling the bath. The bath warms up nicely. We turn it off at around 4:30 pm and back on at 5 am. With temps going below zero many night. Had no problem with the water freezing while on, and warming up in the morning for the first actions around the bath at 6 am. No, it's not totally deiced in an hour but the ice is releasing and water is around the edges for drink. Within 2 hours after turning on in the morning at -9 most of the bath is water with bits of ice left. How do our birds and local squirrels like it? They loved it, at first they were a little leery, but after a good checking out, it has become a very popular place to hang out.Since installing the new bird bath we have received over 2 ft of snow. I did have to go out and brush the snow of the top in the morning after turning on the bath, but the water was already melting under all the snow.

Feels cheap, is small, and I am not sure about the heating element.
I really wanted to like this product, but I do not.It is very small and made out of cheap feeling plastic.I first tested it with no water and the plastic got hot and buckled. This made me nervous about the heating element. I later filled it with water then let it run and the water was cool, so maybe it needs water to balance out the temperature.I did leave it on overnight, and the water was not frozen in the morning, but we have had a bit of a warm snap since I got this product. The plus side is it comes with lots of mounting options. I currently am using the provided feet and have it sitting in my existing birdbath.Overall, I think it is expensive for a novelty item that sort of works. I think an immersion type heater meant for birdbaths may be a better and cheaper option.

Birds love it!
Water is kept at around 45 deg. even in freezing weather! Have seen more birds this winter than ever before! I had to bend the mounting bracket a little to get it to fit flat on my deck railing.
