Does it really do what it says it does ?
The snap Jack is a solution to aproblem that should really exist. If manufacturers would get back to fitting centre stands we would never need devices such as these. So, with that in mind, this device is necessarily a horrible compromise to a terrible cost cutting decision. It can never be all things to all motorcycles and it certainly is neither easy, nor safe to use. It is the equivalent to using a well designed match to push bare wires into an electrical socket, in that, it can be done, but it isn't ever safe and it certainly isn't convenient. On my bike which is a KTM990SMT I have yet to get it to work, I suspect because I haven't yet discovered the knack because it isn't an easy device to use. My first attempt was in the car park of a hotel in Scotland. I followed the instructions but didn't heed the warning regarding the potential for getting the palm of the hand caught as the Jack scissors into place- the result was a nasty flesh wound so I would use stout protective gloves to operate it. I don't give that advice because I'm a ham fisted clutz, but because it's a necessity if you want to avoid the pain.In use, the Jack pushed the bike sideways and forward. The brake tie supplied stops it rolling forward so it goes semi sideways instead. As anyone with a bike knows, this means you are effectively pushing the side stand up and potentially causing the bike to fall over. I suggest that there needs to be a strap between the stand and the front of the motorcycle like is used on a ferry crossing. I will persevere with the Tool, I think I can get it to work, but I'm not recommending it as either, easy, desirable, or safe, there is considerable risk in using it, but if you don't have a stand and need to oil your chain/ fix a puncture in the middle of nowhere, then it maybe your only option.

Good piece of equipment.
Fantastic piece of kit. Just back from a 2000 mile tour of France with the other half and some friends. Used it on a Triumph Bonneville Street Twin (mine), a Kawasaki Z1000SX and a Suzuki V-Strom DL1000. Yes the O/H did take a chunk out of his palm 1st use, but he quickly learnt from his mistake. It made cleaning lubing and adjusting the chains a doddle.
