By far the best salt substitute I've tried. I've been on a low sodium diet for a few years because of blood pressure issues, and it's saved my life. It still has a little of the chemical taste if you eat a lot of it, but as a seasoning it tricks the taste buds into thinking it's salt. It is pretty pricey compared to salt, but it's the best I've found for sure.

It tastes better than straight Potassium Chloride, and it has only half of the amount for as much "salty" taste. Since I'm watching both my sodium and potassium amounts, that in itselfmakes it the better choice.

It tastes nothing like salt, threw it out and went and bought some Morton's lite salt with half the sodium of regular salt. I tried a lot of those imitation salts and none of them taste like salt.

For me, using while cooking is better.

My momma has a few health issues, including kidney disease, which prohibit her from having salt (the amount she can have is exceptionally low). You don’t realize how much you miss something until you have to give it up completely. This has been a game changer for her! She uses the teensy amount she is allowed of this judiciously and is very thankful there is an option for people with prohibitive medical conditions. This will last a very looooong time.

If you have kidney failure, consult a doctor before using any salt substitute. For the rest of us, using a product like this gives you a dose of potassium, about what you would get from a banana. It's potassium salt. If you still eat salt in your diet, you may not like this stuff, because it's a little different in taste. If you are on a very strict no-salt diet, it will taste fine. I do not eat salt at all, as I can control my high blood pressure without drugs, by simply avoiding all salt. Because I never eat any salt at all, this product is a nice addition to certain foods. I also use it to bake bread. I use about half as much of My Salt as I would normally use regular salt in the recipe. The bread turns out great every time.
