Yakima Bait Flatfish F-7 High Action Plug

sleeper steelhead plug in the northwest . It will outfish the maglip . f7 is the ideal size . Even in off color water you can use the brighter chartreuse or green colors . Winter steelhead anything pink, purple or red . Summers coachdog , silver metallic blue , craw, gold all work. One thing about tuning --they work fine with the dogbone out of the box . I grew up pulling plugs and my dad always said put a snap clip on plugs which in most cases is true but these run great out of the box with the dogbone clip . You can also cast and swing these for steelhead . Just put a small split shot a foot or two above it so you can cast it. They are such a sleeper most places dont carry the steelhead colors .

I use the Flatfish lures to fish for steelhead trout. I have tremendous luck with them. I usually purchase them directly from Yakima Bait Co, the manufacturer. However they recently closed their on-line retail sales feature and the Flatfish stock in most other tackle stores has been dwindling. So I purchased these Flatfish from Amazon when I saw them. They were delivered quickly and I caught 5 steelhead on them this past week.

This flat fish gets the fishes attention. But I was able to buy them cheaper at my local fly shop.

Product works well on largemouth bass but it especially works well on chain pickerel they loves this lures for some reason definitely a go to in the northeast when the bass bite dies down

I have been using YB Flatfish for years. The F-6 and F-7 sizes are perfect for the big trout in the catch and release lakes I frequent. The bigger the lure, the bigger the trout; so these F-7 size are great. Since I fish in selective gear fisheries, I have to switch out the treble hook with a single barbless hook, but that is easy enough. I was extremely happy when Amazon began carrying these lures. With Prime, I can get the lure in two days, as opposed to the week+ it takes when ordering directly from Yakima Bait. The price is also cheaper on Amazon for quite a few of the lures.

I dunno if this this is gonna catch a rubber boot, but it's gonna keep my wife from losing MY flatfish lures in the weeds.....
