A little thinner than I thought but honestly should work just fine. Fit well, easy to instal. Rigid enough for easy instal with staple gun. It will definitely block the cold draft in winter. Should pay for itself in no time

I ordered this to help seal my attic access door when attaching a batt of insulation to the cover didn’t do enough to prevent conditioned air from getting through. The cover fits the dimensions of the opening well but, due to the construction of the hatch, I had to secure it to the top of the ceiling joists instead of the sides. I feel like most access panels or ladders would be framed in a similar way to mine, so it could use a little revision. I ended up applying double sided foam tape to the top of the joists before attaching the cover with a staple gun.With those modifications, airflow between my attic and the living space below is almost entirely eliminated at the access panel. It could be a bit more rigid, or possibly incorporate a frame of some type to keep its shape. Simply stapling it all around doesn’t quite keep it completely square.While this product could use some tweaks, I don’t have any issue recommending it as is. It does what it is supposed to do.

I had never seen anything like this before, but I thought I would give it a try. I have a pull down ladder to my attic located in my hallway. That area of my house can get a little warmer in the summer and a little cooler in the winter. This product seemed like it could help with that issue. I “installed” it a while back and I feel like my hallway isn’t as hot as it usually is. Of course, it’s only spring and the warmest months aren’t here yet, so I’ll have to see how well it works then. It fits the opening perfectly. I haven’t secured it to the floor of the attic yet because I wanted to see if I could tell a difference first. My only issue with it is that I wish it was a little more rigid at the top. I feel like even if I secure it to the floor, the top is still kind of floppy if you’re unzipping it to enter the attic space. However, I do feel like it might be making a difference with the temperature, which is the reason I ordered it to begin with.

Build Quality:The insulated attic access cover work well and has no defects. The amount of insulation is lower than I expected but pretty effective overall and is similar to foil lined bubble wrap. The zippered opening works well and is easy to operate.InstallationInstallation is pretty easy and consists of simply stapling the cover to the framed opening for the attic door. I chose to use duct tape to seal the opening a bit more.UseThe attic cover is effective at blocking heat loss if installed correctly. It takes a bit of effort to open and close it but overall I am happy with using and and would recommend it.

This is making me feel better about the upcoming hot weather. I am in a tiny apartment that has an upstairs which has the attic access very prominently positioned in the living area. It is already a good 5 to 6 degrees warmer upstairs than downstairs and that is just during spring weather.This stair insulating cover is just what I am needing to make the attic area less of an influence on my upstairs. It was a little bit daunting to get into place, but once I had it in position it has been easy to zip open and closed.

this product is made good but doesnt stay like it says when putting the ladder back in the attic it pulled it right back out its made for the attic ladder to fold then close mine slides togather then goes up so it take the cover with it

Fit perfectly over my access door. I can feel the heat difference immediately. Well made and rigid enough to hold itself in place
