is this lense good in low light? thank you

Not especially. The f/4.0 at 9mm is decent in low light but the f/5.6 at 18mm is the same as the standard kit lens. I would look at a f/2.8 or f/2.0 lens for excellent low light capabilities.

Just received mine, and it was a bit hard to attach to the camera, much harder tham the stock 14-42mm. Is it normal?

Mine was a bit tighter than the kit lens, but not hard or difficult to attach by any stretch of my imagination.

For hiking/landscape photography, is this better for the wider angle and light weight or the 12-40mm for it weatherization and speed?

It is a common misconception that landscapes need very wide angle. Wide angle is for getting close to the subject. Landscape does not actually need speed (the subject is not moving). Landscape needs depth of field (narrow aperture) and sharpness. You should be evaluating which is more valuable: the light weight is better for moving around or the sharpness of the 12-40.
