LEGO 60198 City Cargo Train, Toys for Kids 6 plus Years Old, Remote Control Set, Battery Powered Engine with Bluetooth Connection, 3 Wagons and Tracks

Proved a perfect present for my young nephew who loved it, the most important measure.

Bought this for my son and I to start our LEGO city & I am thoroughly impressed.The build time took a little longer than expected but this is probably more down to a very excited four year old rather than the complexity of the set itself.The track is a good size for a starting point, the siding is a great play addition.The train itself is very sturdy and well built. It’s bigger than I was expecting and can survive the occasional derail.The Log cart is a neat carriage and the overall finished build is very good. Not a great deal of playability.The transport cart is one of two carriages with advanced playability. The bank vault and snow mobile container work perfectly with the included fork lift.The fork lift is an amazing feature with working lift thanks to a clever use of a rubber band.The control tower is a worthy inclusion and only enhanced the playability factor. My son loves it.Connecting the train is easy and straightforward, you can also change the color of the LED to match the train so if you add more trains (like I am already planning) you can easily identify which is which. If you do you will need to remember additional controllers / hubs.Overall, I would recommend this set to anyone who is looking to start of into the world of LEGO trains or starting a city, or even those considering expansion.

like the fact you can put it together in what order you like. ie wagons first. Wish Lego would give more proper printed bricks instead of stickers.

This is a nice set though a little pricey for what you get. The cargo train is well made and robust - the track is the same as other lego trains, so you can add to or extend any existing track. You get a single set of points. \This is a Power Up set, so you get both the controller but also can pair with a device such as phone or tablet - this is handy if you have more than one train to control or just want some more options (or lose the the controller...!)6x AAA batteries required, which last a fair amount of time and generate a good turn of speed - enough to spectacularly crash the train if that’s your thing.the crane is a little fiddly and tends to fall over a lot - the weakest element of this set in my view, but the other wagons are good quality.This works well combined with the passenger train set and I have to say is a lot easier to set up and then play with than a well known brand that specialises in trains (starts with an H) - and with it being Lego, there is so much more you can add to it as well (In my son’s case, the Star Wars troopers landed in the middle, intent on hijacking the train...).A very good set with a lot of elements that can be built out or incorporated - still feels a little expensive to me, but there aren’t many train sets to pick.Recommended.

this was purchase for my grandsons (who will be 6 in May) 2022 Christmas present. So based on that fact alone I cannot review the product, but I can state that it arrived on when stated and undamaged, so that's a bonus. The price was excellent for this product, hence the purchase now rather than later in the year (prices are going to go up due to supply chain and conflict with China Covid restrictions and Taiwan. so I will finish this review with 5 stars to the seller based on quality of service and price but lets hope that the quality of product matches. They say "never judge a book by the cover" in this case it should read "never judge a product to you open the box".

Am building a large winter Lego display, need to construct various train locks, carriages and trucks from sets. This was good value fir money

My 6 year old is train mad and when he unwrapped this on his birthday he was positively exploding with excitement. An expensive set, but you get a lot things in it, and the Engine and wagons surprised me with their size. Only 2 words of caution though:The train is a battery monster - 6 AAAs for the engine and 4 more for the remote and an extended session will murder the batteries at quite a rate. Rechargeable batteries and a charger are a must to save you from more excessive wallet surgery later on. I event went for enough rechargeable batteries for two complete sets for the engine to save downtime.The second problem is that once into it, the supplied oval of track will not be enough for the user, so more will no doubt be demanded (cue further wallet surgery).All in all though: expensive but will keep short chaps (and chapettes) happy for a long time. As long as you have the battery stockpile.
