Moleskine Classic Desk Address Book, Large, Black, Hard Cover (5 x 8.25)

I've been wanting a new address book for the past year or so. There was nothing wrong with my old address book; I just wanted something that would give me more breathing room, so to speak. I like to include extra data with my address entries, such as a person's birthday, a couple's anniversary, notes about companies I do business with, that sort of thing. Usually I would end up trying to cram this stuff into the margins of my old address book, which got the job done but wasn't very pretty. I also wanted something that was physically a bit larger. My old one was 3"x6", which was considered "medium" size when I bought it, and certainly it was too big to fit in a pocket, but I don't carry it with me so that's not a problem. I decided I wanted something that would allow me to really stretch out and include all the information I want and need, without having to cram it into the constraints that most address books force you to use for each entry. That's one of the beautiful things about Moleskine address books: there are no constraints. The pages are like the pages of a notebook. An address entry can be as long or as short as you want it to be, and can include as many different types of data as you can throw at it. At the same time, it's superior to using a plain notebook because the pages have alphabet tabs, allowing you to quickly find the section of the alphabet you're looking for. Even though it's bigger than most address books, it's not "big" per se: it fits very easily in my desk drawer and takes up only slightly more space than my old address book. The construction quality is excellent. The hard cover is very sturdy; the paper is just the right weight (and is a pleasant cream color that's easy on the eyes); it has a built-in bookmark; and there is a stretchy band of fabric that you can use to keep the book securely closed when not in use (which is great for me because I like to use my address book to store stamps, stickers, and address labels -- they would always fall out of my old address book). There's not much to say about the appearance of the book except to call it "classic." It's a plain, black book. Period. That's it. It's beautiful because of how utterly simple it is.

As always, MOLESKINE brand is one of the best. I depend on this company for journals and graph (squared) notebooks. Paper is excellent (tho it could be a little thicker), smooth (for ease of writing with pencil or ballpoint. This ADDRESS BOOK is perfection because of alpha tabs on the right side, but I wish it came in another version which was a bit fewer pages. THIS address book is very thick at 9/16" or 16mm, and quite heavy (11.1 OZ). It is supposed to be (per label) 5 x 8.25 inches (13 x 21 cm) but is really 5.25 x 8.25. Since I wanted an address book NOT only for addresses, but for ALL entries I prefer to have in alphabetical order (passwords and general notes of all kinds), and since it would be a book I carry with me every day, I was hoping for a little less weight in my backpack. SO, I wish Moleskine would make an address book the same size (5 x 8.25) but with fewer pages. Although it is beautifuly made, the spine was not developed as a LAY-FLAT design. So, if you try to force it to lay flat when writing on the interior pages, you will weaken the spine. For me, an alphabetical notebook should be able to last a couple of years, at least, and I believe that this will be pushing it after I open and close it thousands of times.

You'll never go back to another type of Address Book after this! We're moving to Okinawa and I needed a new address book where I could write down as much info as possible. This book allows for that. You make your own format and have the freedom to do what you want. The book itself is sturdy and well made. Definately worth the price. It arrived fast. I would reccommend this to anyone that needs to put a lot of information under one name. Also it could be a wonderful organization tool for a wedding, moving, or anything else!

I was looking for an address book to save dates for an upcoming wedding and stumbled upon this one. The overall feel and quality of the book are excellent. The construction is very sturdy and seems to be exceptionally well made. A very nice benefit of this book as opposed to many others is the fact that it has an expandable pocket inside the book to store various pages / business cards / envelopes / etc. for later entry. Allows for easy, organized alphabetization which is great as well. This is undoubtedly one of the best address books on the market today!

I have had this address book for about 2 months now and it is nice. I thought it would be bigger because it said large but I guess that means its larger than your typical address book. Don't get me wrong, the size is perfect, I just would have used the word "medium". The cover feels great and the pages are nice and lined. However it is not sectioned like some address for different contacts, you have to section it off your self which isn't an issue. Great address book, definitely would recommend it!

This is something gd-pa needed. The only alphabetized notebook that has simple, clean pages, with no pre-typed labeled boxes bs. Can't believe how hard it was to find one. I was looking for plain pages, free-style writing -type. Hard cover is sturdy and nice. Gd-pa was very happy when he opened it and said size is perfect.

I ordered this address book to replace an old one that was ugly and spiral-bound. I love that this one is sleek and simple. What I like: It has plenty of room to list whatever information you want to put- no fill in the blanks with blanks you don't want to fill in. I used the mailing address labels I made for my friends and family Christmas cards and put them in the corresponding section of the book to make it neater and easier. I plan to buy several more as gifts for Christmas- I think this would be good for either a man or a woman. And yes, you still need an address book... it's there for you when your cell phone loses everything!

Tamaño y peso perfectos, cabe tanto en mochila como en bolso. La goma ayuda a que no se abra y tiene buen espacio para escribir.

You know what you're getting with Moleskine, and this address book was as expected. Like that it does not have separately demarcated areas for each address, so that gives you flexibility to put as much or as little information per entry.
