My wife and I have not failed to provide food for the birds for over 20 years and we've watched the population of garden birds increase in our garden dramatically over this time. We have a number of standard bird boxes positioned around our garden and love to watch the adults entering the boxes to feed their young and then the fledge. Unfortunately our advancing years makes it difficult to sit out on a bench for hours. Now we can watch the whole thing in colour and with sound from the comfort of our couch on our TV. Our previous camera (different make) had stopped working, most likely a problem with the cable. We’ve installed this new camera without too much problem but have used the existing bird box as it was more substantial with a nice felted roof cover. Will use the bird box that came with this kit somewhere else in the garden. Very pleased that a blue tit has already moved in though no nest as yet.
