I'm a trilingual Afghan born in Europe, I am fluent in 3 languages but lack writing and reading abilities in one and that is Dari. This book helps a lot if you are a beginner in learning how to read and write in Dari and to learn phrases. I hope there will be an intermediate version of this for further advancement. Its probably so far the best language book in Dari for beginners.IT is unfortunate that there are not many out which are properly published and not just created on Word document as a supplement for a language text book.

Awfully edited book. Looks like the author is not really familiar with Dari himself, so how could anybody start learning the language using this book? Some words have wrong translations or transcriptions. Sometimes one transcription is given, next time another. It is really shame that this book has ever been printed and presented as a textbook for people who want to learn Dari as a second language. The worst textbook I have ever seen with way too many mistakes.

This book was poorly edited and typeset; with font changes occuring regularly throughout. The exercises frequently contained vocabulary that had not been previously encountered, which was very confusing. The entire book would benefit from being proof-read by someone with a good command of English.Worst of all, the reader is encouraged to write in the textbook, making the entire book useless on a second reading.I cannot identify a readership group for whom this would be a worthwhile purchase.

The main thing I think this workbook needs is companion audio files. If they exist, tell me where, but if they don't, they would be great! My best friend is Afghan so I run everything I learn through her to make sure I have proper pronunciation (or I at least pronounce it the way her family would since they are who I would be talking to the most), which is great for later in the workbook when the transliterations stop, but if you don't have a Dari speaker easily accessible to you or you yourself aren't a native speaker trying to properly learn, you'd be lost.

The media could not be loaded.  Very Good book but not for my needs. I wanted the farsi meaning written in english aphabets.

Aber man braucht definitiv jemanden, der die Lösungen korrigiert und weitere Lektüre, um das beherrschen der sprache zu bewältigen.update:Ich habe mittlerweile das Buch bin Lutz Rzehak "Dari-Persisch" gekauft und ich kann das Buch von Lutz Rzehak eher empfehlen als dieses, weil in diesem Buch einfach Lösungen und Audio Dateien fehlen. Das Buch von Lutz Rzehak ist zwar teurer, aber es gibt dafür reichlich Erklärungen der Grammatik

This is a fun and handy guide! I liked it a lot and it helped me put sentences together and understand the different dialects.

I love the layout of this book. It is very easy to understand and great quality. It is very large, though. I hadn't checked the dimensions and was expecting a regular sized book.
