Gateron Oil King V2 Pre Lubed 5pin Linear Switches for Mechanical Keyboard (36 PCS, Oil King)

I’m new to the modding-keyboard hobby, so take my word with a grain of salt, but I really like the Oil Kings. Smooth, with a deep sound. These came pre-lubed—a good thing, as I am not yet ready to spend an evening taking switches apart to lube them myself. But, not for perfectionists, because you WOULD spend the evening lubing them ‘properly’.

The media could not be loaded.  Overall a great switch. buttery smooth travel and a softer bottom out the I expected. now the leds... since the switch housing is black the leds don't shine through as much. there isn't a deep cut out like other switches to let more light pass through. as a result the less are extremely dim on my board at least(Epomaker th66 pro, it has a white plate btw) also one thing to note: I have Cherry Profile Keycaps and my top row of sockets are north facing leds- I have no interference issues. I lied but this is a result of the board with the leds on the '1' socket being a taller than the rest so I have to use a different switch for that one key. but this allows you to compare the brightness.the '1' key is a WS Heavy Tactile- white housing(it has a larger bottom cutout)the rest of the board is the Gat OilKings and it is noticably dimmer(no cut out and all black housing)if you care more about the feel and sound of your board these are a great choice. if you care about the pretty lights I recommend a switch with a clear upper housing or at least white housing top and bottomif I knew my leds would be so dim I can't even see them I would've purchased another switch tbh- but I like the sound of these switches over what I had previously so ill be hanging onto them as daily drivers. I can verify the switches do feel prelubed btw and they are excellent no scratchyness or ping from the keys. Also these are a little heavier than regular linear as the switch has a longer spring so typos are less likely to occur.

Nothing to really say, if you like easy switches with a deep sorta sound then get them.

They sound amazing, this is my second keyboard I built, I got them prelubed, they came in a very nice package/display, they sound great, just like I want them to, I highly recommend if your just starting.

The media could not be loaded.  This was actually my first keyboard build and I’m so happy with the way it turned out (disregard my spacebar). From gaming and typing with gateron red switches, this was a huge jump in the right direction. It does take a little bit to get used to as the switches do feel a bit heavier than reds but they feel so much more premium. The fact that these came prelubed are what made it so much more worth it too. Overall, the switches took my typing experience to a whole other level and I’m really glad that I chose to spend a little more for the quality of these oil kings.

They are good as advertised, I bought 70 pcs there are 3 of them needed lubing again, I guess the ‘oil’ was dry…
