This works best for me because it's comfortable and doesn't make me ...
I've been wearing a mouth guard for years due to persistent teeth grinding during th night that I just can't control. This works best for me because it's comfortable and doesn't make me choke at all so k wouldn't worry about that. Previous to this mouth guard I had the softer version which I ground through in a matter if weeks so I wouldn't recommend that one. I also had one fitted by the dentist at great expense (way more than the £30 this cost) and it fitted snugly on the front of my teeth. I still ground into it and I made deep grooves in the plastic. This made my teeth so sensitive I could barely stand in a cold breeze because the chill would hurt my teeth an make them so sensitive. With the sleep rite mouth guard it doesn't affect my front teeth at all and has reduced the overall sensitivity of my mouth. I hope this helps you choose the right product. Teeth grinding is awful but if stress is managed and the right mouth guard is worn it can be reduced.

The device was perfectly comfortable ( once you have got used to the idea ...
Sadlly, not for me.Sadly, this device has NOT worked for me. I am a clencher ( as well as a grinder ) The device has protected my teeth ( one star for that ) but I just clench against the device so that in the morning, my ears are ringing, and my jaw is so stiff, that it affects my speech .The device was perfectly comfortable ( once you have got used to the idea that it is " loose " in the mouth and not fixed like a mouth guard. )I am also concerned that the device must only be worn for three months before a dentist checks the teeth.....I think that this is because the teeth don't touch and there is a danger that the teeth may loosen....this fact will need checking....but I think that is why a full guard is better from that point of view.No better and no worse than a conventional mouth guard.Off to try the little devices that fit in the ear. Not really proven either, but MAY work !!

This one is good for me
I find it hard to know what to buy because every time i come to needing a new guard they have changed the designs. This one is good for me, it is very hardwearing- I don't grind my teeth but i clench my teeth overnight and have TMJ and an shifted jaw as a result.I can wear this all night and it stays in place. In the past i have had the smaller version of this guard and woken up after dreaming about eating crisps and found myself chewing this as it has moved! - with this one the side 'wings' are bigger and so i have not had this happen. It is holding up so far with no breakage or worn down bite pads which is good as i can sometimes wear down the bite pads within weeks.

comfortable and durable (1-2 months)
+ large enough to get to the back teeth+ durable so no biting through, last 1 month in good condition, 2 if you push it- could be cheaper- the plastic case is a waste that contributes to cost

Not an ideal product for a TMJ sufferer.
My problem is dysfunctional TMJ, not Bruxism. This involves spasming/ cleanching jaw muscles, 'cracking' jaws, and constant pain around the jaw joints. I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy, it can be like torture and it effects my daily living in every way. I'm a young male, in his twenties, generally fit, healthy and educated to high level.I came across this product 2 years ago and made the purchase. The product itself appears well-designed, and manufactured from quality materials. The product arrived well-packaged, with adequate information included in the box regarding advice and instructions. In my case, the product did not fit very well as prescribed by the manufacturer. When fitted as prescribed the guard did not remain securely in place, this is distracting and a constant bother. Of course, I tested various configurations, i.e., changing the adjustment to increase or decrease the size. In each case it was either too small, or simply floppy and loose. An ideal guard would remain secure and discreet, to the point you could forget about it. The SleepRight Dura Comfort failed to achieve a comfortable fit.Though, when I fitted this guard NOT as prescribed, i.e., simply flipping to fit the upper teeth, I then experienced an improved fit, better than before, but still not perfect. The guard is still quite loose, and it's certainly not secure, but it fits enough to remain in place to at least give it a trial.I have trialed the guard, on and off, for the last 2 years, in the flipped configuration. Again, the prescribed configuration is simply ineffective and pointless. As a TMJ sufferer I have not experienced any significant improvement in relation to jaw spasming or clenching. While I have experienced some minor relief in the jaw joint (due to gap created by the guard), I have found my spasming to become aggravated, since my teeth clench harder due to the guard pads. I have certainly not experienced any level of success when the guard is worn at night. The times I have worn it during sleep, I simply have had no choice but to spit it out at some point during the night on every occassion. For me, not only is it insecure, but also encourages jaw clenching. It simply does not provide any significant level of relief for a TMJ sufferer. In my opinion, while this guard may provide some relief to relieve jaw tension at the joint by the gap created by the pads, there are many flaws in the design of this product. It seems well designed, but poorly researched. Even though this product is not strictly marketed to TMJ sufferers, and based on the poorly fitting design in my experience, I am curious to know how other people, such as bruxism sufferers, could consider this a comfortable guard. In summary I would not recommenced this product to other TMJ sufferers, save your money, and don't wast your time or energy with this pointless but well marketed product.
