A new classic!
What a warm hug of a book -- despite being about the wind! The love in this little family just pours off the pages' lovely, optimistic illustrations. Its crisp verse focuses young readers on everyday life, and the magic that can happen in everyday moments. Despite reading it in sunny Florida, my eight year old and I snuggled up regardless to see what would happen to this little boy, his kite, and his fun-loving grandma!

A Must Own Book!
What a wonderful story. My seven year old enjoys reading this book and loves to follow the items blowing in the wind from page to page. He has been scared of loud wind in the past and this story helps him see that wind can be fun and not scary. And Wind can lead to some great adventures. The illustrations are beautifully done. A must own book!

I love the excitement for the outdoors is expressed through Linda ...
Spring weather has arrived — sun, wind and rain seem to share the season equally. “When the Wind Blows” celebrates the changing season through the eyes of a little boy and his grandmother:When the wind blows… Windows rattle. Doors Creeaaak. Chimes Sing. We peek.Screens bang. Grandma sighs. Jackets jumble. We Fly!I love the excitement for the outdoors is expressed through Linda Booth Sweeny’s text. Your tongue happily dances along the words, making you smile as you read. That enthusiasm is mirrored in Jana Christy’s swirling illustrations. You feel as if the wind will come right off the page and swirl you along with it.

Very Sweet Book for the Whole Family to Enjoy!
Love this book! The illustrations are beautiful and eye catching for kids and adults alike. The story is fun but has a beautiful message. I love snuggling with my little one to read it and pretend we feel the wind.

Walking through a windy day at the seaside with Grandma
We visited a seaside town last year with some relatives and we went on a boat, and my 2yo had a lovely time. This book reminds her of that trip, and it taught her 'boat', 'sailboat', and 'kite', and what it feels like when it's windy. We enjoyed this book from the library so much that we went to the store and bought it!

I absolutely adore this book!
Who knew that sentences with only two words could carry such joy, but it is exactly these couplets that make this book so charming. The sounds, sights, and feelings of the wind will surprise you and surround you, as will the warmth and fun of the little boy and his fearless grandmother. The book's illustrations are also truly special, capturing moments big and small ("Mice shiver" is my favorite!). A great way to end the day with a little one and reflect on adventures today and to come.
