VOSTOK | Amphibia 120509 Automatic Self-Winding Diver Wrist Watch

Good watch for the price, feels quite sturdy. Haven't had the chance to go swim with it to test the water resistance but I've had it in the rain and had no issues. Bracelet feels comfortable. The crown feels very wobbly when you wind it but that's by design. The acrylic glass scratches easily, as expected, but my scratch wasn't deep and I was able to mend it by rubbing some toothpaste over it. Bezel rotates in both directions, would have been nice having it rotate in one direction only for the real diver feel. Overall I like it a lot and I feel like I'll buy another Amphibia soon, with a different dial and a silicone strap probably.

This is my first Vostok amphibia, and I've researched this watch and found it to be the one for me. A no nonsense efficient timepiece, and from Russia too. A lot of attention and hands on work went into the making of it. In short, I'm very pleased with it and am looking forward to many years of quality wear of my Vostok watch.

Watch arrived with two major deep scratches on the dial over the 12 o clock. Had to send for return/refund. Hopefully next watch is new and does not arrive damaged as the process for returning takes over a week. Update: New one came in, way better condition. Minor scuff but with these watches the glass is not mineral. I’ll take it, looks gorgeous.

The watch arrived quickly, no frills. For a ridiculously affordable automatic watch, it looks great and works well. I have seen other reviews criticizing the strap, but it goes well with the timepiece and I like it a lot! Highly recommend!

I bought this watch because I had gotten one in Russia around 92 and gave it to my father and it still runs. I love the look at this watch, but evidently the quality is gone way down. I only had it for a couple of months before, I couldn’t wear it because of not being able to see the numbers and hands due to the moisture that I can’t get out of the watch. It holds a constant fog on the inside of the glass. The only times that the watch saw water was in the shower and in a 9 foot pool maybe two or three times over the summer. Super disappointing. It still holds great time and sexy AF but definitely not worth the money being that it’s supposed to be water resistant and instead is virtually useless and sits in a drawer. I even put it in a bag of rice for days on end but as soon as I would put it on, it would fog back up…. Super bummer.
