Absolute game changer (literally), a must-have
I wish I purchased this three years ago. Basically you are buying extra time on the hoop. You've already spent ~ $2K on your Goalrilla + installation. For an extra $250-300 you can now double or triple the amount of time available to use it. Other than weekends, you're never going to use it in the morning or during business hours. All you really have is after work / dinner etc. with your kids. But then the sun goes down and in the winter especially you're done - not anymore. I absolutely love being able to go out and shoot hoops with my family after dinner. The neighborhood kids love it too. It just looks so good / professional. I was able to install this by myself (one person) although it would certainly be easier with two. I have read about some of the reliability issues and I've only had my unit for a couple months so I can't comment on that. In terms of power supply - I recommend just buying a Jackery Explorer 240 Portable Power Station for around $250. Cheaper than paying an electrician to run a wire through your driveway. The Jackery 240 will power your Goalrilla lights for HOURS, and it's also useful for camping, extra power in your house, emergency power in your car, whatever.

Works with Pro Dunk goal system!
Purchased a Pro Dunk (Silver) system 2 weeks ago and added this light to a 5 inch pole. Was not sure if it would work since it was designed for the Goalrilla system, fortunately it worked well and the two LED lights worked amazingly well! The light is more than adequate for night time play and is not in the eyes when shooting. I will say this and have not read this in any review but because this is a Pro Dunk and not a Goalrilla, the pole height is shorter by 2ft ( estimate). Why this matters is that when the LED light arm is retracted (simple to do), the bottom of the light arm goes all the way to the ground and the light sits just above the goal rather than behind it. The good news is, when fully extended it is high enough for long somewhat lofty shots...we have played most nights for two weeks with high school players and no one has hit the light with a shot. The light should remain extended anyway so this really is not an issue so don't let it stop you from purchasing. I will say that wind rarely moves this light but very high winds brought on by severe storms did so on days like that or when leaving the house for extended periods, I would recommend lowering the light arm to the maximum lowering height for your system. I would recommend this goal to anyone without hesitation.

All night basketball!!
Kids in the neighborhood are at our place at night. This is a pretty good light and does as intended. Pretty easy to put together.

I love these lights!
This light system is great. I have it on my goalrilla 54 inch. Very bright. Bugs do love the light, though. I have an electric line buried up to the rear of the goal and hooked up a smart plug. Easy to turn on and off. I have gotten a lot of compliments from neighbors on the lights because it really does look cool and professional. Install was a little annoying, but not too bad. One design issue I have is you have to get a rod to lower the lights all the way down. Once the lights are up and extended over the court area, you have to reach up and hold a lever to lower the lights. I am not tall enough and I have to use a pole. I wish it was easier to lower the lights.

Big improvement over other solutions
We just installed the light last night and the units have only been available for a short time, so this is not a long-term owner review. We have a Goalrilla CV60 with a yard Guard attached. The court is 30x35 concrete. Pros - The price is reasonable compared to the other solutions that I looked at. Each light head at retail alone would be 25% of the system cost, and then you have to find a way to mount it high enough in the air. I looked at other hoop lights and installing 15ft poles. This unit costs less than the concrete I was going to pour. - The design appears to be a big improvement. The older halogen model was disliked for a number of reasons that have been addressed. First, it is LED, so it is unlikely that we are going to see the units reach the end of their functional life. The design allows you to lower the unit in order to adjust the depth and also perform maintenance and adjust the light angle. More practically, it would be almost impossible to install without this feature unless you had a cherry picker. - I do not recommend it, but I was able to install this in the dark with the help of a somewhat attentive 9 year old. Definitely bring the tools they recommend. - The light output for a 30x35 concrete court is excellent. The light covers just outside the perimeter of this space and is like it was tuned for this size. I was skeptical that these lights would be enough output for the space, but it looks fantastic. We did not play much, but with he light being positioned from above, the shadows were not a problem. Cons - The instructions are a bit lacking. They address a number of different types of installs, but they could have spent more time and a few more pages breaking things down. There is nothing about how to install this unit if you have a Yard guard already installed. I went ahead and installed it below the Yard Guard and it seems to it fine. There are other areas where more explanation would be helpful. everything is a tight fit and there are some sharp edges, so you must be sure you are going in the correct order or it is a pain to take it apart. Especially in the dark. - All of the other accessories have a plastic coating where they contact the pole, but not this system. It is all powder coated, but it still leaves me wondering why it did not receive the same treatment. - My kids kept asking me 'where is the switch?' and i told them there was not switch and please stop asking. I will be running an outlet to the pole that will be switched (with a smart switch that I can use to turn it off from the house 100 feet away if I have any sense). In the meantime, it is using an extension cord. I asked myself why they would not have included and inline switch instead. I would prefer to not plug the thing in each time we want to use it. The cord has to be fished down each pole section (see next point), so any solution would have them adding some kid of weatherproof junction which would have been costly. They should have considered incorporating this into the design of the transformer box that is mounted between the lights. This would have required a less heavy duty cord from the top and allowed them to add a weatherproof switch at the bottom. -The plug fits, but it is tight at the top of each pole section and you need some finesse to get it past the tapered end. Had they placed the transformer at the bottom, this would be a non-issue since they would not have needed line voltage. Also, the edges are sharp and if you are not careful, the cord insulation can be compromised when fishing it through. Overall we are very excited to use the light and expect it to get much use.
