We love this product for filing our baby's nails! It is much easier and safer to use than clippers. The reason it gets 2 stars is the battery compartment. After replacing the original AA batteries, which only lasted a short time, new batteries would not fit in properly, so with the compartment lid on it would not work at all. The only way we can use it is to remove the battery compartment and jiggle the batteries until it turns on, which is obviously a pain! We have tried different battery brands but it doesn't matter.

I ordered it a few months ago and been using it since my new born baby was born in March. Yesterday, I found that it is not working so opened the battery part and noticed that the batteries were melted inside. Again I have been using it for only several times and the batteries were included at the time of order - it has Amazon logo on it.I was shocked and bath my baby for any possible toxicity and washed all of my bedding - I opened it on the bed while trimming her nails. Now I definitely do not want to use it for my baby anymore and am very worried about any possible toxicosis that might have affected my baby already. I contacted to Amazon and they said to contact to seller directly.

Love the idea, however after 6 months of using it, notices that it doesn’t rotate as fast as it used to (even with brand new batteries)
