A Different Kind of Pillow
I'm in my mid sixties and have been in enough wrecks to feel the wear and tear on my neck, especially as I get older. I found that having my neck in particular positions while sleeping would cause neck and shoulder pain. Keeping my neck in a neutral position while sleeping helps. As a slide sleeper having my pillow come up to support my neck while still allowing my head to go down helps out. I would try to do that with a few different pillows I purchased but this meant pulling and adjusting the pillow in ways that would get out of adjustment as I slept and moved in my sleep. The design of this pillow is naturally built that way. It's a soft but dense foam shaped in ways designed to support your neck. It does not change shapes and the side that is meant to lay on the bed is flat so the pillow doesn't move unless you intentionally want to move it. The side you sleep on has two different sides that would seem to help accommodate different people's needs. The center of the pillow sinks down so that when my head hits the center of the pillow my neck seems to be pretty well lined up with my spine. So I can sleep on my right side with little to no shoulder pain of which I had with other pillows most of the time (especially when I had worked that shoulder that day). I also find that I don't have as much loss of blood flow to the arm I'm sleeping on. If you like to pull your arm up under your pillow, this pillow accommodates that comfortably. I was surprised about that due to the flat nature of the bed side of the pillow. I've laid on my back and found that it is very comfortable that way also. You will probably want to use a pillow case though it comes with a removable cover. If so, I recommend you use a pillow case that is large enough to allow the pillow to move as it was designed to. I put it into a regular sized cotton pillow case that was too small and it was uncomfortable. Instead of going with a larger cotton pillow case I used a pillow case that was made out of some material that was very stretchable and it's great. So I highly recommend this pillow. Especially if you are a bit older or in need of neck support.

Excellent support for head, neck, and shoulders
For some background: I ordered this pillow as an upgrade, and chose it specifically for the cervical support features and optional height adjustments. I have a lot of pain in my neck and upper trapezius, which makes getting comfortable at night very difficult. I'm in physical therapy currently to strengthen and reactivate my rotator cuff and trapezius muscles. For me, this pillow has the perfect firmness, height, and width. (I chose the Queen sized one, and I'm glad I did because now I have to share with my lazy potato cat at night. Lol) I used to toss and turn all night, moving between back and sides to stomach and back again. The first night I used this pillow, I felt immediate cervical relief and my neck and shoulders were able to relax properly. I slept so hard, I don't even remember my husband coming in to bed. I was only up once in the middle of the night, which had to do with drinking water before bed and not with the pillow, and it was super easy falling asleep again. I woke up feeling refreshed and was so happy to go through the day with way less pain than I've had in months.I told my physical therapist about it a couple days ago, and actually had another patient come over to ask for more information. I've shared the link with my PT, and he's making sure those interested in it can take a look, too. :) My sister and husband are also considering ordering for themselves, and I know they'll be very satisfied if they do.

Great for my neck stiffness
I'm no spring chicken and spend most of my days in front of a computer screen, which makes my neck stiff with pain by the end of the day. So, getting a good night's rest is critical to me feeling like a human again. Enter this pillow. I am a face-up-sleeper, the pillow provides a great neck-support, and keep my head in place. Its side-resting area also feels great. It's like having a personal pillow concierge! And the best part? No more waking up with a crick in my neck that makes me look like I'm trying to recreate that famous horror movie scene. Plus, the design of the pillowcase is so chic, it's like my pillow is wearing its best outfit. And it doesn't smell like a mad scientist's laboratory, which could be a big plus for some people. Overall, this pillow is a game-changer and has me feeling like a well-rested, neck-pain-free superstar.

Wow made a huge difference.
I am writing this review for others like me.Waking up with neck pain and stiffness is not a default setting of getting old.I was dealing with those issues for months and finally gave in and started purchasing various items to correct it.Of the many pillows I tired, this one did the trick.I appreciate the grove for your head, it really provided a comfortable night sleep. My neck was supported as I slept on my back or my side. Shocked to say that getting the right pillow worked. But after 3 weeks of purchasing and using this pillow I no longer wake up with neck stiffness.

Massive hedache!
I was using the pillow for two weeks when I got it in March - two weeks of solid headache and neck pain. I didn't think the reason was the pillow but I swapped back to my old one and all the pain was gone in a day. Just decided to give it a chance once again - same thing. I can't return it anymore but if someone wants it, will be happy to send it away from me, for free.

It takes a few nights to get used to.
All of us in the family have this now and like it. It does take a few nights to get used to it. And as the manufacturer says you may have to make the adjustments to it that are available. My neck and shoulders have finally stopped hurting. This is the first pillow in a long time that has been comfortable. I am.a back sleeper.
