Good explanations and interesting cases - Recommended for any student of TCM
This book covers most of the key TCM diseases, divided by Zang organ. At the beginning of each disease section there is an explanation of the disease and a breakdown of the common clinical patterns (differentiations) including symptoms, treatment principles, main acupuncture points, supporting points, and recommended herbal formulas. Following this there is a brief summary table, then a series of detailed case studies including explanation of the pattern and formula used, as well as follow-up details. Lastly, there is a summary of each disease and comprehension questions (answers are provided) to test student's understanding. Most of the case studies use only herbal prescriptions in their treatment, so acupuncturists will need to refer to the summary tables to help with their studying.Overall this is a well put together book with good explanations and interesting cases. I would recommend it for any student of TCM who would like to refine their differentiation and treatment skills through case study analysis, as a supplement for their other course material.
