The Baumgartners Plus One Paperback – January 28, 2011

The reason I gave this three stars wasn't because of the writing. It was because of the writing itself it's just not realistic like this would not would happen in real life. In other words, I don't rush into a threesome as quickly as they do in this book. Another problem is, I've already seen two of the movies after the baumgartner's and all I can think about is what the characters in the movie look like. And Doc in this book is described as handsome, the guy that played Doc in porn movies was not very handsome at all

Danielle, separated from her husband and waiting for a scholarship to study in Italy, lives next to the Baumgartners. She spies Carrie out sunbathing in the backyard and, unfortunately to Danielle's embarrassment, lets Carrie know she's been spying on her. The two become friends and, when Danielle's husband lets her know she will have to move from their rental unit, she moves in with the Baumgartners. Life becomes even more interesting then.I love this series. It is hot and steamy. Selena Kitt writes good sex. I look forward to reading more of her. I love the Baumgartners. They meet such interesting people. I liked Danielle. For a while she was down but she picked herself up with Carrie and Doc's help and moved on after her husband left. Good strong characters.

Female/female stories aren't really my cup of tea. When I first started reading this book I was worried I was going to have to do a lot of skimming. Welp, how wrong I was! This story was so damn sexy. The chemistry between Dani and Carrie was unbelievably hot. They meshed so well together, physically and emotionally. They connected on levels that were deep and endearing. Then we add Doc to the mix and dang, it's lights out (but Doc needs a new nickname) I kept waiting for jealousy to come up but it never happened. Carrie is such a sweetheart, she justs makes everyone else around her better. These three together completely exceeded my expectations and I loved that we really got to know them. Props to the author for giving us that connection while still giving us the heat...lots of heat! Sometimes you borrow more from your neighbor than a cup of sugar 😉

Am I first? Cool!I haven't read everything that Selena Kitt has written yet (the woman is prolific!), but I have enjoyed all that I have read so far. But I think the Baumgartner series are my favorites. I love all of the characters in all of the books, but I admit that it is Carrie and Doc who most grab my imagiination. I have been hoping that Selena would take us back to their early days, so I was very excited to see this book and immediately purchased it for my Kindle. I started it this morning, intending to just read a chapter or two before getting on with my day...and ended up spending the morning reading the entire thing.Selena's books are so much more than just page after page of sex...although there is lots of sex and it's hot! But the characters are real and make me feel for them. In this one especially, she tackles (but doesn't endlessly dwell on) the heartache of losing a child, of domestic violence, and the painful ending of a marriage despite being in love. I cried more than once while reading.But this IS an erotic novel and erotic it is...in spades! I've always found m/m/f menages more interesting than m/f/f...but Doc and Carrie definitely arouse my interest (pun intended). And make me wish they were real and inviting me to join them....

Ahhh the Baumgartners. There is not a couple around like them. Anywhere.I had first read "Babysitting the Baumgartners" a year or so ago and I was blown away with just how hot and smutty the story was. So I thought I'd go back to the beginning of the series to read how it all began. That lead me to this "Plus One" book.M/F, F/F & F/F/M are the sexual orientations of this book and I swear Selena Kitt writes the best F/F scenes around. I'm not usually drawn to F/F as I am M/M but holy smokes she writes steaming hot intimate scenes.I also love the actual stories that are included within each of the smutty pages so a total bonus.In the Baumgartner world you don't need to worry about STDs, condoms or jealousy. The stories are not sexually realistic (orgasm multiples and Doc, Mr Baumgartner's stamina is unprecedented) however, if you just go with it and just enjoy it, the choreographed and frequent intimate scenes are sure to please. The fantasy of a triad relationship is front and center and it is nice to just immerse yourself in the fictional possibility. Loved it!

I did like the book because once again they were consenting ADULTS. We meed Dani, who appears in the next book as well as this one. She has some issues that she needs to work through and becomes involved with Carrie first and then Doc. There are plenty of hot steamy scenes f/f and m/f/f. There is more of a plot in this story but it also centers around many sex scenes. I don't think these people do much else other than have sex, it's a constant throughout all of their books. I do prefer to follow a story and have the sex as a compliment to the story but this series is just the opposite.

I was quite surprised at the emotional depth of the story. Danielle has quite the back story for someone still so young and reading from her POV made it all the more real. At times, I had a love/hate relationship with all of the characters, but most especially with Mason.The ending left me the most shocked although in thinking back, I guess it shouldn't have. No doubt there is at the very least a HFN and how Ms. Kitt goes about it is incredible. However, after becoming somewhat attached to both Danielle and the Baumgartners, I really would like to have seen if that HFN could turn into a HEA.Ms. Kitt never fails in keeping the storyline unpredictable, so even though we may not know where we're going when reading one of her stories, there's always plenty of sizzling erotica to enjoy while we get there. If you're a reader not afraid of exploring a more wickedly adventurous and uninhibited side of a ménage relationship, then this book will surely appeal to you.

This is a very good flowing well written story, loads of sex, love and sadness. I really enjoyed it and couldn't put it down.

Another excellent book in the series. Thoroughly enjoyed Selina Kitt's eroticism as usual. You won't be disappointed.
