Attractive, sturdy pen stand. Some assembly required.
I've had my eye on this for a while. It just seemed like a nice little stand to hold a pen with, and I wanted to replace another pen holder I have that isn't as stable. When I first got it, I was a little confused, as I didn't realize it shipped in two parts: the knight and the stand. Putting them together, I became a little more confused, as it was clear that the pieces didn't fit together snugly. The knight tilted to one side. It was only after going back to the listing and realizing that the description mentioned glue that it made sense to me. So I bought some super glue and glued it together. While that worked, I think that's more of a workaround than the way the item should actually be sold. If it's going to require glue, the glue should come in the box. But I'm a little confused as to why it requires glue at all. if the feet of the knight matched the holes in the base better, no glue would be needed. You could just match the base up with the stubs on the knight's feet and be done with it. Considering how solid the knight and the base feel, it was a bit disappointing to find that the attention to detail didn't extend to the feet attaching to the base.Having said that, once you glue the feet to the base, it's a very attractive stand. It's a little larger than I thought it would be, but that's certainly not a bad thing.I can easily recommend this to anyone who wants a pen stand. It's a nice stand, as long as you know what you're getting into. It's a little harder to recommend this as a gift. I think it would make a fine gift for someone who uses a pen a lot or has a pen collection. But I think if you're going to buy this as a gift, you should probably take it out of the box, assemble it, and re-wrap it yourself. It involves a little too much assembly to be a gift you just wrap up and hand someone as-is. Four stars as a gift you give to yourself, though. :)

Unique and awesome way to access your sword (pen)
A unique desktop conversation piece. The Knight of Pen, humbly presenting a tool, similar to a sword. To convince others (without bloodshed) of your ideas through written word or ideas. It is just as represented. A solid and detailed 14th century Knight holding a (decent) pen for ready use.It is delivered with the The pen, Knight, and it's base all separate. The Knight doesn't quite sit on its base in a stable manner and as you can see in the pictures, the left knee is supported by coins (that look Ok). however it can be wobbly unless glued into the base (not a big-deal) and it is still pretty cool. The background pictures (thanks to my computer screen) add to the effect and indicate my enjoyment of this Knight of Pen. Worth the money if you can justify investing in. Can see it as a unique gift that would be likely used on recipients desk-top. Enjoyed by pen lovers and/or of Knights in shining armor. Particularly if a fan of both.

Great idea
My wife is a Writer, so I got this to hold her pin. It would have been a five star item, but it fits loose on the frame and flops around. I ordered some glue to make it sturdy. Other then that, it looks great and keeps things in order on your desk.

You Had 1 Job...
The media could not be loaded. ย The one job of an executive pen holder is to hold the pen.The only reason this has a 3 star is because it does its job... kind of. I tried to show pictures and a short video. It appears maybe I am a tad more filler in the foot would have leveled out the knight. Without it, it's like a wobbly chair at a restaurant - see any major sitcom. The other function is to appear executive, I would imagine. It fails on that front. It looks even more cheap than the build quality is in person. Again, it maintains its 3 star because I am well aware I may have gotten a bad model. There's potential. Given the price, I didn't expect perfect. But I was eager to have this so for it to unusable was a bummer.

Great gift
Really good design and pleasant to the eyes! It's a great gift for anyone. My concern is that I couldn't put the Knight's feet inside the holes of the platform. This is because the measures weren't done well. I had to break a leg so I could insert the feet in the holes. Then, I glued them back and everything looked fine. If the same thing happens to you, be very careful so that you don't break the Knight in irreparable spots.
