Nostalgic goosebumps a plenty!
I usually gauge the quality of an album on how many times I would listen to it. So far this is a winner in that I keep finding myself listening to the odd track whenever I can.The best part of this is that the live instruments seem to give a more rounded sound. I have listened again to the original electronic recordings recently for comparison and have noticed that some of the sounds have a tendency to clip short of completing the note. However, the real instruments give a fuller rounder sound that lends itself beautifully to the genre, it makes me wonder why the recording artists of the 1990/2000's used electronics in the first place. It makes perfect sense when you think that the likes of Mozart used string instruments to produce dance music all those years ago.All told I think this album is a treasure and for me the stand out track is "Good Life" and I have to say it took my breath away when I first heard it, seriously its the best version since the original. If I was Kevin Sanderson/Paris Grey I would be flattered that such a cover exists. My only gripe is that you have to listen to the tracks in order as they overlap, if you do listen to them individually they will end abruptly. No reason to remove any stars though. If you are a dance music fan as I am just give it a listen its a real treat and full of nostalgia. Another review mentioned that this should have been a double album and I think I agree. There is a medley track on here and I would have loved to have heard full length versions of the three tunes included in this.Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra you have created a modern masterpiece as far as I am concerned I take my hat off to you and please make a volume two. Here's to 2017 enjoy.

Pete Tong, classic tracks and an orchestra. What else is there to say except worth a purchase!

I'm sure there will be a Volume Two, and I'm looking forward to it!
At first I was sceptical at the idea of the combination of house music with an orchestra of classical music, but after watching the BBC Proms video, sampling some of the recordings and reading the reviews on Amazon, I decided to buy it and wasn't disappointed at all. The cd starts in a BIG way with Right Here Right Now, then Pjanoo and Lola's Theme (one of the highlights, I think, along with Good Life) follow...and the party starts! Generally the versions are quite faithful to the originals, although the presence of an orchestra certainly gives a different tone. And yes, that is Jamie Principle singing again Your Love! You can't really argue with the selection of the songs, and I must say I was happy to see some so called chill out classics included as well, such as personal favorites Rachel's Song (from Blade Runner!) or Smokebelch II. Good liner notes (by Craig McLean), covering 3 pages, explain the process of the creation of the album. It's a very enjoyable recording that I like to listen in one go (although I do think that Where Love Lives should have been placed after Porcelain or Waiting All Night). I'm pretty sure that there will be a Volume Two, and I'm looking forward to it!

the recording is probably the best way to enjoy this fusion of classical orchestra and ...
Given the venues for the tour, the recording is probably the best way to enjoy this fusion of classical orchestra and legendary electronic/dance music. The Ibiza Proms, when broadcast, had the feel of being close up - sitting in the rafters of the Manchester Arena, the impression of live musicians was lost in the impressive production, the tiny spec of Pete Tong waving his arms in a learned routine to inspire a dance floor just one in a sea of tens of thousands. Compared to the live experience, putting the CD on (vinyl would be preferable, of course) gave the opportunity to be lost in the music and not the crowd. The tracks selected perhaps owed a little too music to classical themes regardless, so there's little dissonance and much harmony; the beauty is knowing that those strings come from hands on neck & bow, the horns, breath and skill, rather than the ubiquitous heart of a JV2080 or Akai S1000.A project that deserves (and has received) recognition and support, that has resulted in a wonderful album, hopefully the next iteration will be braver. As a live performance, smaller, more exclusive venues rather than arenas would suit so much better and give everyone the opportunity to feel the vitality of the orchestra's performance.

Classic House.
Being of a certain age, I was a little unsure what to expect from this album, but I took the plunge and bought it and I’m pleased that I did. Here you get a mix of 17 classics of the ‘House’ music genre originally and brilliantly re-imagined for a 65 piece orchestra that is perfectly sequenced and balanced. Standouts for me are the rearrangements of the Fatboy Slim 'Right Here, Right Now', Robert Miles’ ‘Children,’ ‘Insomnia,’ and, I particularly like track 16 a lengthy medley by several artists including ‘Nightmare’ and ‘Café Del Mar. The beats on this album are all still very much at the fore, but so are the sweeping, cascading orchestral strings and arrangements gracefully leading or supporting parts of Tong’s overall vision. Classic House for me works really well and is instantly timeless, and dare I say even ageless!

Right Here, Right Now. Be here now.
A brilliant DJ and a brilliant conductor. The Heritage Orchestra is a Kundalini experience. See the live show and the conductor on YouTube, he exhibits a calm cool and nonexistent ego that the usual spastic conductor shows. He cues in the sections with nonchalant and is one of the best conductors I have ever seen. The CD is great but you must see the live performance on YouTube. BBC Royal Albert Hall Proms. I would be proud to perform under the direction of Jules Buckley, a great modest maestro.

CD imprescindible para los ravers
Es un CD que recopila varias de las mejores melodías de música electrónica de finales de los 90s y principios de los 2000s, en versión sinfónica.
