Cat Scratch Guard Upholstery and Leather Furniture Protectors - Love Your Furniture and Your Cat!

My cat has always been well behaved and quiet... until I purchased my new couch. It's a tweed-like fabric, so the corners of the arms seemed to be just begging to be scratched. It's not his fault he scratches (it's his nature, as a cat), so I needed to find a way to protect my couch corners and also not hurt him. I tried the kitty claw covers you glue on, but he seemed so unhappy I stopped using them. This "Scratch Guard" item seemed promising, though. I ordered two (so I'd get four guards), and found them super easy to put on. They're barely noticeable at all, and he's stopped scratching the couch (in any part) completely. I can't say how well this would work for other cats, specifically ones who scratch the entire couch- but for my well-behaved boy who focused on the corners, this was a win!

It is clear, so furniture can be seen clearly. The "pins" or "screws" are not too large, so don't call a lot of attention to themselves. Plastic can be cut to fit under arms of furniture.Downside is that the package states, not ideal for leather. This was not stated anywhere I saw on the description in the computer. I found this out on the package, after I'd ordered & received the product. All my furniture is leather.

Kismet looks sweet and innocent. But she is a clawing fiend! She loves to claw the arms of my couch and chairs and will resist waterbottles and other discipline. These are made of thick plastic which easily tack to the arms of furniture. The plastic is flexible enoughto curve around the arms. Kismet is foiled! She looks at the plastic with disdain and goes on to claw other items (like my home theatremovie screen --- ACK). Of course, she turns up her delicate nose at cat scratchers! These furniture protectors were easy to install and have little holes in the corners for the tack's. The manufacturer recommends not using on leather and I can see where the tacks would leave marksin leather.

This product is well mqde and comes with plenty of those little curly pins to hold it on. Unfortunately, mt cat just decided to scratch around the guards, but it might work with other cats.

Stopped my cats from tearing up my new couch and chairs. Only thing is now and then I find one of the screws pins that hold it in place on the floor. Not sire if the cats are pulling them off or if they just weren't in good? Still a great product. Ordered more because they went higher up to scratch it. Put a stop to that!

My smart cats had the plastic off in 1 day. They chewed screws...

Car doesn't bother it anymore in the certain place she always would scratch. What I don't like about it is that it needs to be longer.

The product is exactly as described and came with extra screw pins. However, my cat scratches more than just the corners of the chair so it is not that helpful. I am going to purchase 20 gauge clear vinyl and a pack of screw pins to get better coverage at a lower price. In should have done that in the first place.
