Seems like the real thing, can't wait to be able to try out a PS VITA properly.
Official packaging, seemed like the genuine article, worked fine, and allowed to use my PSVITA for files and games that would not fit onto the internal storage.Immediately prompted the setup and migration of data, very impressed. My personal opinions on the price per gigabyte, the incredibly limited internal storage or the restrictive nature of using a proprietary memory format aside, this now enables me to have a console that I can put games onto that i have got PSVITA versions of over the years, largely through PSN+, some that can be cross played on PS3 and PS4. As i own and use both. That is a bonus. so far I've been impressed with the quick dabble at the PS2 ports and PS3 era games playable on it. the 8GB size allows me to install about 6 full size games at a time, as they seem to be over 1GB each.

Works well, but expensive!
When I first bought my PS Vita, I also bought a 4GB memory card, which worked very well at first, as it had quite a couple of games on it. I tend to delete games and data, once I've finished with them to save space. However I then started downloading Vita games from PS Store and this is why I had to buy a bigger memory card. Last month Killzone was free from Playstation Plus Store, and this took up a hell of a lot of space on my 4GB memory card, I couldn't even complete any updates as it was that full, so decided to buy the 8GB memory card. Like everyone else has said, its absolutely ridiculous how much these memory cards are, and if you have quite a few games or download games from the PS Store, then you will need to buy a 16GB + memory card, as anything below this, you will struggle to fit anything on it. I bought a used 8GB memory card, as they can work out cheaper, and work the same as a new one will. And it has worked very well for me so far, so I'm fairly happy, the only reason it gets a 4 Star is due to the price, but what can you do, you have to buy a memory card for your Vita.

Overly expensive....
So, the PlayStation Vita is out and Sony have once again decided to create a new propreitary format, in order to make themselves more money. 8gb is not much for a console of this calibre, and is filled up rather quickly, despite it's hefty price tag. What where Sony thinking overcharging for this? On the plus side - it does work and fit into the Vita perfectly - but somehow you just regret the lack of SD card support we've been getting from Sony - and how much cheaper a better alternative might have been. Still, again, this does work... but then again...

Fab Deal & Essential

One of the biggest rip offs. Ever. At least I got it for free with my Vita, otherwise I would not have touched one.
total rip off, I would not have bought my vita if it had not come with one of these... a pathetic 8GB for £25... hmm, I can get FIVE decent 8gb memory sticks for £25. what an appalling con Sony is pulling, making yet another expensive proprietary card to get about four full games on - I have installed the first person shooter demos from the store on there and I have 1GB left of space already.

BUY A BIGGER CARD (32gb/64gb)
Functional but not enough storage for little more than 5-6 games. (I have these games on physical cartridges/cards), so the installs were not even proper FULL sized installs either. I later went out and got the 16GB card too, (BIG MISTAKE!) I filled it almost instantly (day 1), just installing my stuff from the old 8GB card, and then installing Persona 4 Golden, FF X Remake and two ps1 games from the PS STORE. Go for the 64GB storage card, just do it (or the 32GB if you can't quite stretch to it.). Sony makes the 64GB storage card the only working viable option (with their little proprietary card CON SCHEME.) Not happy at all! The vita should have at least been designed with 4/8GB OF ITS OWN STORAGE BUILT IN, and don't even get me started on why the vita should use standard micro SD Cards instead of the current cash cow system.

Cardtastic!
It's an eight gig card, only for the PSP Vita. It may look like a micro SD card, but it's not! You can always rely on Sony to make things more complicated (and...........expensive) than needed. You have to have one to play games, you don't get one with it and that is the same with a case! So as I can't really write a review on a card, as it's a card!! I shall moan about Sony and the lack of extras you don't get with it!!

Does what you want, except the part where Sony rips you off
Memory cards are like razor blades, they're where manufacturers make the bulk of their profits. I just wish Sony would make a little less profit per card - 500% mark-up (compared to an equivalent sized SD card) seems a little abusive to say the least. Of course, they don't make the same economy of scale as SD card manufacturers do. But who's fault is that? A mini-SD would have fit into the console as well as this proprietary format, but they wouldn't be able to control the market if they did that.I have to say that some sellers on Amazon appear to be even more unscrupulous than Sony, I've just seen one trying to sell this same card for £60, shame on them.Ho-hum. Otherwise there's not much to add, slot it in and it works and you've got somewhere to save your data. I only use mine for saving game progress to, so 8GB is fine for me as capacity goes. More would be nice, but the price starts to become ridiculous as you approach 32GB, which would really be the ideal.
