Pip and Posy: The Snowy Day

One of the books I put in my daughters Christmas eve box this year (the other being the Christmas tree one) and they were a big hit. She absolutely loves the pip and posey series but this is the first time I've bought her books from the series and I'll definitely be buying more! Read one million times already.

My toddler daughter LOVES Pip and Posy - after finding them in our local library, renewing them umpteen times, we have decided we had to buy her some of her own to let the other library users appreciate these great books! The stories are so simple but so relevant to little one's lives, and gently told, with the characters modelling typical toddler behaviour and then showing a good response to it.The stories are all centred around two friends, Pip, a boy rabbit, and Posy, a girl mouse. In each story there is some minor crisis - a wee on the floor, a scary costume etc. In this particular story the friends fall out over whether to make a snow mouse or a snow rabbit. They push each other over, both get upset, then they apologise to each other and make up, finishing off by playing inside with the rabbit making play dough mice, and the mouse making play dough rabbits for each other. This is a really great way to open up a discussion about what the right thing to when we are angry is, and how to make up with a friend after a falling out.The books are written and illustrated by Axel Shuffler, of Gruffalo fame, and his drawing style complete with lots of seasonal, natural details to look over and discuss are an added bonus.

Great for 2-4 year old kids

My three-year-old daughter loves the whole Pip and Posy series of books. They are beautifully illustrated with plenty to talk about on each page. The text is clear and the stories are simple, with events toddlers are familiar with -- from falling off a scooter to wetting pants or making up with friends after a row. My daughter has the whole series which we started to collect when she was two. We read them over again and she can finish off most sentences and even recite whole ones after just a few reads. They are not too long so it's easy to read the same story over again -- as little ones love, without the adult getting too fed up.The hardbacks are durable, and stay looking good with just a little care. I love giving these as presents too.A real favourite! Love them.

I thought it was going to properly kick off this time between Pip and Posy. Luckily, they talked things through and it was all resolved amicably.

Anyone caring for young children should familiarise with the Pip and Posy books. These stories are of 2 best friends, a mouse and a rabbit, and the little life lessons they stumble upon in their day to day lives as youngsters at play. Wonderful short stories, beautifully illustrated, with relatable child like characters. Each one of the books in the Pip and Posy catalogue is perfect for a bed time read with a toddler or youngster. These books will be enjoyed in a new light when your child learns to read the words to you at bed time...

I liked the story and the pictures. It’s fun to read it to my toddler.
