Well made and easy to use.
I do not use this every day. More of a country homeowner situation. But I have used the puller on perhaps ten different occasions and it worked like a champ. Sturdy construction. Nice storage case.

Power puller
This is made well but when fully engaged it’s difficult to push the release. I used it for tree work and to release it I had to tap the release button with a hammer and it would have been better to have a little more cable.

Execellent
I purchased this after reading othe reviews. This puller effortlessly removed an 18” diameter stump. I dug and exposed a large side root, cut that with a chainsaw to allow the stump to be moved out at an angle. This puller is made for heavy duty work. Please use the proper size and rated chains, straps, and ropes. Always allow time to work safely.

This Gear Power Puller is a Beast
The quality of this item is far superior than much loser cost units sold. All of the gear puller components are robust and should last for years. The only issue was that braided cable tended to not wind equally which can be corrected by forcing the cable to wind properly.

Great for pulling stumps
Great stump puller. Worked on all three of my stumps one being 3 feet around. Great product. I’d recommend for sure. Great for the price and size of it. Very durable

Not 4 ton capable release doesn't work under load
Oh how to rate it??? I tried using this to slide a 40ft sea container jacked up on wooden skids (weight is 4tons). It did not budge it. The worst part is the release mechanism doesn't work under load, I had to relieve pressure using a second cable puller to get this one out. The cable and handle are both very short (per the specs and many reviews, I knew this), not sure the size of the giant that can put 4 tons of load on this without a cheater on the handle (don't dare try this with any modern cable puller). The good news part, this is the first recent purchased cable puller that doesn't destroy itself. How I miss my antique one that was stolen. I feel reasonably confident this will work for smaller loads and small distances, maybe a good solid 1-ton puller?

Easy to use and works effectively
I just put up a fence around a 10 acre tract. We used two of them to pull fencing ( hog wire) at the top and bottom. Then topped it off with barbed wire.

I've been using a big box store 1 ton come-along to pull dead trees out by the roots for firewood all winter. I realize that I've been abusing the hell out of it but I do it anyway. I ordered this 4 ton unit in hopes that it would not give me as much grief, and so far it is working great. I never use the extra pulley to double the pulling capacity. That is too slow and the cable travel is too short, so I'm really only using it as a 2 ton puller. The dual pawls on this puller don't just "click" when cranking up the tension, they "clunk". That sounds very reassuring. There are no flimsy sides to the cable spool-- the pawls themselves form the sides of the spool and they are thick enough to not warp, jam and complain like my old piece of crap. I pulled a big dead poplar down today that I would never have budged with the disappointment that I used to use. There was no horrible screeching sound from a warped spool scraping the sides of the frame, just a nonchalant, rhythmic clunking as the poplar groaned in agony, hollering out to its neighbours for help. No help came though. A few loud pops later and the big old-timer broke free of its roots and crashed to the ground. Yeah, I've been drinking.

Bought this for moving problem trees and when stuck off road. Have not had a reason to use it yet but just looking at it, appears much better built than those that I have purchased in the past for only slightly less at box stores. Case keeps it organized under the seat of the truck awaiting use.

I’ve had cheaper pullers like a 1 ton or 2 ton but this puller surpasses all of them. I use pullers to take down trees and for hanging up wild game etc. I used this puller attached to a massive tree with a 15,000 pound tow strap and then to the trailer hitch on my truck. I was able to safely crank the puller step by step until the entire tree was taken apart all by myself safely. These types of tools are always a must have for every household or cottage. Excellent product, excellent quality excellent performance. I highly recommend and will definitely order again. Thank you!

This is the be-all, end-all of the come-along world. It is made robust, strong, comes in a great carrying case, made of hardened plastic, not your cheap, run of the lot come along, this is a great tool!! I was amazed how well made it is for Vietnam, I swore this was Made in America or Germany because of how well it is made. I could not ask for a better come-along. I do recommend it to anyone with heavy duty requirements... if you have a 1-ton pick up, this would be a great tool for you. It is heavy though, for someone who is small and/or not very strong.
