Excellent product to darken leather
Excellent product, purchased a bag that was tobacco brown, quite light in colour, after one application the colour was darkened to what I wanted.

Great waterproofing for leather.
I used these on my work boots which are not of exceptional quality but good enough. Prior to application they were not waterproof at all, and after a couple of applications they are as waterproof as you can reasonably expect leather boots to be. I am a ranger for a country park with two wet meadows, so I am often walking through tall wet grass, which would normally leave boots soaking for those who don't know - I have not had a problem with this since using this product. Obviously this does not make boots 100% waterproof - stand ankle deep in water and you'll still get wet. But for most people's purposes this is perfect. I would recommend them as someone who works outside all day - when my boots get wet, they stay wet - this product has made all the difference in the world to my comfort levels throughout the day. It slightly darkened the leather of my boots but not in a significant way, or more so than a similar product would. I reapply every couple of months and it works great - smear on to the leather, work in, leave to absorb for fifteen minutes, and then wipe dry. I have heard that too frequent applications can soften the leather too much, but avoid this and you should be fine.

Good
I've previously reviewed this item before and this is the second time I've used it on my boots - admittedly I may have used it too little. But I avoid wearing my boots in rain anyway and they only come out in autumn/winter. Just to show the way in which the oil darkens the leather. The first time I did this I panicked but no oil/conditioner is going to leave the colour unaffected. The boots darken but with time and wear the original colour comes out, as you can see in the first photo. Can be messy to apply if you're not careful, but I'd recommend this and it's clear from other reviews that this product has been used on different types of leather footwear.

Helps to break in new leather and protect older stuff
I used this to help break in some Red Wing Moc Toe boots and help make them more water resistant around the seams, and it worked on both counts. I’ve also used it on my old (10 years) Timberland boots - it helped bring that leather back to life, but be warned, it did darken the light leathers significantly. I’ve also used this on my Dark Brown Belstaff leather jacket. Again, it darkened the jacket, but the leather feels much more supple and flexible and the small dry lines have disappeared. It’s good stuff; use sparingly and remember it will darken your lighter leathers.

works like it should
Bought after doing research. Absolute a1 product. On leather one application gave deep lustre and hid scratches really well. Honestly. Not new shoes but renewed character of well loved shoes just with ome application never mind polishing out further.

it works...yippee! no more creaking & squeeking, simply apply with a clean cloth, rub in, wait 5-10 mins & buff ( using a different cloth ). there is no smell or greasy feel afterwards.

I bought the oil for my timberland. The shine comes out again instantly. Reason why I bought the oil was to eliminate the mild dew that was growing on it, the oil shines and protects it from mold. I used it and it lasts for the time in the cabinets and for my other leather shoes as well. The only problem I had with my timberland was that once the fungus invades the shoe, the ugly stains that were caused by the fungus cannot be removed. Hope that helps you define what the oil can do for you. Enjoy the item, it’s good for protection if u take care of all your shoes from start to the end
