Mug works great!
I ordered this mug and then read reviews and thought I would regret it. Nope, works great.First, it actually does hold 16oz of liquid. Some reviews stated that it's much smaller than 16ozs. Perhaps that was for the first generation mug, but the version that I have in my possession absolutely does hold 16ozs.The "tip&cool" feature is a little awkward but works as stated. I use public transportation daily and I like to drink my coffee on the bus. It's not unusual for bus drivers to brake without warning, and if I'm using a traditional to-go-mug that means I get a mouthful/lapfup of scalding coffee. This mug completely erases that problem. When on the tip&cool setting, you only get the coffee that's been cooling. No more burned mouth. It's not a lot of coffee, but that doesn't bother me. You do have to tip it quite a ways to fill the reservoir (cue weird glances from fellow bus-riders) but hey, it works.Does it keep coffee hot? No better or worse than any other mug I've ever used. I filled it with scalding coffee and my drink was still warm three hours later. Not hot, but not icky lukewarm either. And frankly, being able to drink the coffee as soon as it's brewed usually means there's no coffee left after three hours to be lukewarm. If you're looking for super insulating, look elsewhere but for the typical commuter coffee drinker, this is just fine.Cleaning it hasn't been a issue. Hot water does the trick. Not dishwasher safe, but we don't have a dishwasher so that's not a significant issue for me. Also, it's as leak proof as any other "leak proof" mug. I was able to throw a half-full mug in my tote with moisture sensitive things like my phone and head home from work without any real concern and nothing leaked. Before you do this, make sure there isn't any coffee in the cooling chamber. The cooling chamber is NOT leak proof.I would recommend this mug to anyone who asks about it. However, my boyfriend is also an avid coffee drinker and he thinks this mug is the dumbest thing on the planet, but to each their own.Why four stars? The color isn't "mist" as shown. "mist" is far more smoky dark blue. I still get compliments on it, but I'm much more of a "mist" girl.Love this mug, definitely considering getting another one in another color.

Didn't function as smoothly as I expected
I ordered this mug to use for my hot tea. It appealed to me because of the "temperature control chamber". The color is not quite as pictured - I ordered the Mist Blue and on my computer, this color appears to be a light, bright robin's egg blue. When I received it, I was a bit disappointed that the actual color was more a light, muted smoke blue. But I was willing to overlook that and chalk it up to the settings on my TV (though I've had no issues with anything I've ordered previously or since). The temperature control chamber is a small channel at the top of the mug, under the cover. The cover has three settings: lock, sip (open normally) and tip and cool (which is the one that boasts the cooling effect). When you set the lid to tip and cool, you tilt the mug in the direction opposite the opening and this releases a small amount of your hot beverage into the shallow channel at the top of the mug. Then you bring the mug up to your mouth over the opening like you would normally drink and the beverage is actually at a drinkable temperature. Why did I only rate it three stars? The amount of beverage dispensed through the tip and cool setting is such a ridiculously tiny amount, it would take forever to finish your drink. The mug certainly keeps a hot drink hot for a long period of time but the tip and cool feature is not worth the extra cost.

I wanted this to carry to work.
I ordered the slice orange and it is definitely orange. I like the size and found it kept my coffee warm a good while. That is about all I liked about it. First, it is very hard to see the lid choices for "lock", "sip" and "tip and cool". They also do not line up correctly and when I want to just "sip" almost nothing comes out. The "tip and cool" feature is a joke. I promptly got burned the first time I tried it and the coffee had been in the mug for about 20 minutes. (Obviously it keeps it hot!) Also, you cannot take off the lid and just drink from the mug part due to the design. It is also very hard to wash. It has a very narrow opening. The first time I carried this to work I had it in the "lock" position and coffee still spilled. Come to think of it, I only took it one time and will most likely never use again. Perhaps I should just return it.

BRUGO TEMP. CONTROL TRAVEL MUG PROTECTS TONGUE?
This is a rather pricey mug that claims to protect your tongue from burning after you fill it with a hot beverage. After you prepare your brew, screw the cap on thus locking it. There are three select-able/twist-able positions on the top of the mug; LOCK, TIP&SIP, and SIP. The idea is to tip the mug which will release a limited supply in the outer core for cooling. The only dependable method that I have found is to prefill the outer core initially before tightening the top. Tilting is only effective when it is at least two-thirds full. The tilting is done "blind", so it is "trial and error".You do drink the contents faster, though. After two hours, the contents are tepid to cold.It is a good looking mug that I probably should not have purchased.

almost the perfect travel mug
I really like this travel mug. On Amazon it says 100% leak-proof, on the packaging the travel mug comes in it says "not leak-proof". I found that if you don't over fill the mug and you close/lock it properly, it doesn't leak. My coffee stayed hot for a quite a while and the PTZ was a neat feature. The only problem I have with the mug is that it just doesn't hold enough coffee. It says it holds 16 oz but my old mug held 16 oz and this one is about 4 oz short.

Great concept, but didn't keep coffee hot for very long.
I liked the idea of a coffee cup that would allow the hot drink to be drinkable and keep the rest hot but I didn't think it kept my coffee that hot for very long. I have other coffee cups that do a better job of keeping my coffee hot for a longer period of time. I still use this one, but I like my other cups as well or better and I just have to wait a bit to drink very hot coffee. I would give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

Ordentliches Produkt

Good for the tepid drinker...but not if you want a hot/warm drink
The concept of this mug promises a lot when you read the description and have a play with the mechanism when you first un-box it. However, the problem really begins when you need to use it for the purpose it's intended - to keep your drink hot and in the mug until you drink it (so no spills!).The mug does the second part very well - it keeps the liquid firmly in the mug which is great. I used it first when commuting for 3 hours and I didn't spill a drop. However, whilst I didn't spill anything, I also didn't get anywhere close to burning myself either. I made a fresh coffee using boiling water from a kettle (as most of us do!) but unfortunately no more than 10-15 minutes later, the coffee in my mug was tepid at best.I'm sending the mug back based on the fact it can't keep the temperature of the drink it contains based on the fact I was really hoping it might still be at least warm an hour or so into my long journey. As I mentioned at the start though, the "tip and sip" concept is a great idea, but it would be even better if the drink inside was kept hot enough so you actually needed to cool it down a sip at a time. I never used that function once unfortunately!

Does what it says: you can walk and drink, or keep it in your bag.
These are really great... except I want it to keep my coffee just a little bit longer. But first things first, does it work: can you walk and drink from it and also stick it in your bag? The answer is yes, with a small caveat. The caveat is that you have to make sure that there is no coffee in the 'cooling chamber' before you put it in your bag. This means switching it to 'lock' and then either sipping from it or tipping it upside down over the sink. Once you've done that, it won't leak into your bag (any more than any coffee flask might if you don't put the lid on properly or whatever). And the cooling chamber is actually really useful: you can keep most of your coffee warm while you cool a bit and drink it. I had a beautiful morning in the park over the summer savouring my coffee while walking, and this wouldn't have been possible with a normal flask. So are there any complaints? Well, if you're not tipping and sipping on the go, it doesn't quite keep the coffee warm enough for me. I make my coffee at about 8:45, and normally drink it at work at 10:30/11. And by this point it's just slightly too cool for me. I'd say if you drink your coffee within 90 minutes of making it, that won't affect you, but any longer and you'd be better off with a metal thermos.Still, it's a great product, and worthy of the five stars.

close, but no cigar
This thermos is indeed leakproof and the design is very clever. The problem (as with most plastic thermos) is that my coffee doesn't stay hot. I've never had the need to use the cooling section. I drink my coffee about an hour or so after its made and by the time I get to it in this thermos, its lukewarm. Im now back to starbucks double wall steel which is fantastic.
