Nice motor, works great!
I was a little hesitant in going with a motor made in the Land of China, but it's distributed through a retailer in Texas that has a good reputation so I did. The alternative was one made in Mexico, so I don't feel too bad. The motor arrived nicely packaged, and in perfect condition. I bolted it to my compressor, hooked up the wiring and installed the pulley and belt and it works great. It is in fact a bit quieter than my previous motor, which must have been going out for a while. No regrets, and a good price too.

So far so good!
Our 16yr old air compressor motor had finally gave up. We were torn between either a.) having the motor rebuilt b) buying a genuine new motor c) buying an after market motor. We went with (c) and so far we are glad we did. It works just as good as the original, possibly even better. Its only been a few months so far but we have already put mileage on it and its ticking really well.

A Quality Motor
This is really a good quality Chinese Clone of a US made Century/Magnetek motor. The windings are tight and well bound, the balancing is very good, only slight vibration. The shaft size is dead on at .875. The cons, keyway is slightly loose maybe .001 or .002 oversize and I wish the electrical connector studs were bigger, big enough to use a #10 ring terminal. It has pairs of 1/4 inch spades at each stud which I don't like to use at this ampacity. Very happy with the motor.

Not bad
Starts off good but after a few months the bears start to drag and causes the motor to over heat. I have changed the bears twice and now I am going to order an exact replacement motor from Ingersoll Ran. Tried to save some money but guess you can’t save money and get good quality.

The frame size was key
Everything swapped over easy from one motor to the New one. Also bolted right to where it was supposed to go

Bad news this company
Edit. Now this motor that I purchased is sold through Castlerock Tools. Seller switched company name? Amazon has denied my claim now. I won't be replacing this motor through Amazon. Amazon dropped the ball on this issue. Don't stand behind your purchase through their third party sellers.Edit. 3 weeks since any contact with the seller. Amazon has attempted to contact them 3 times over the last 2 weeks. No reply. Complete waste of my time. They don't deserve the 1 star.Motor worked fine for 4 months. Then periodically would start smoking. Quick action to shut it off has made it last to 6 months. In communication with the seller, I.E.E. Industrial Equipment Expert, they are refusing to take care of it. They tell me I bought the wrong motor. My motor was a 56 frame. Their motor a 56 frame. Mine, 5 hp, theirs, 5 hp. Mine 21.5 amp, theirs 22 amp. Mine 3450 rpm, theirs 3450 rpm. Mine lasted 11 years. Theirs less than 6 months.Motor will not last the 1 year warranty period. Do not buy this motor and do not buy from this seller. They said I should have bought a 184T framed motor. Now they say this is a 56Y frame motor. It's not in the specs for this motor. It's not even a NEMA specification.I'll quote,This is the IEE office. Yes, 56y is the frame size for this motor. The company tried to make this one alone with other models. They gave this motor a special frame name 56y and it is a range size. you can adjust.Run around anyone?

Surprise motor
Order came a few days ahead of time. I was expecting a made in China motor, but was pleasantly surprised to see that it was made in Canada. The packing was the very best I have ever seen , bar none. This is going on a 72” x 2”belt grinder. Fair price, Great motor.

Good Replacement For Kobalt
This was a good replacement for the Kobalt 138336 motor. Despite the obvious 3.7HP rating of the compressor, do not be fooled. The original Century J and O motor is 15 amps, thus the compressor HP rating is false which is why it isn't printed on the motor itself. The 3.7HP motor offered here is over 17 amps. Go by amps, not horsepower! This 15 amp motor powers the pump just fine, reaches cutout pressure without a struggle, runs smooth, no excessive heat buildup. It was great to see an old compressor come to life again when new comparable ones are now $800. $200 vs $800... the math isn't hard. The only cons I can provide at this time is the wiring cover plate has a small hole near the top screw while the original didn't. Even though the pump and motor should be out of the weather anyway, I suggest to make plans to do so.
