Great collection
Excellent collection of songs from the master singer of rock ever. Varied selection of mostly earlier tracks of DIO.

Unbelievable value for money
At 3 quid, there is no reason not to buy this collection; it's definitely worth having one less pint in the pub in order to own this album. Even if you only buy it for one song (as I mainly did), after a few listens you will suddenly have at least a handful more that you can't stop playing. Brilliant for those new to Dio (as I was). You can't go wrong with so many classic tracks on here.

Devil horns at the ready!
When Ronnie James Dio passed away recently, the world of heavy metal lost one of it's greatest vocalists, a true master of his craft. Dio graced many an album from Elf, to Richie Blackmore's Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and the latter's offshoot, Heaven & Hell, and performed with class and style on every song. "Dio-The Collection" brings together the best known tracks from a fine band, so devil horns at the ready people, LET'S ROCK!!!

Classic Metal!!
I discovered Dio through being an avid fan of Black Sabbath and getting the album "Heaven and Hell", I am only a fan of the classic metal and what a discovery, Dio definitely had one of the all time great metal voices, the tracks are great, "Holy Diver" being one of my favourites, the tracks have some great riffs and awesome vocals, if your a fan of heavy metal, this is a must have!!

Dio are a good rock band.
Dio are a good heavy metal band. They had some very good songs such as Holy Diver and Rock 'N' Roll Children. The song Holy Diver was featured in the PlayStation 2 game Grand Theft Auto:Vice City Stories. I also like American heavy metal music which Dio is.

Legendary vocalist, but not a collection of his best work
I'll start by saying I'm a huge fan of the late Ronnie Dio, and I rate him right up there among the greatest of Rock/Metal vocalists.I remember buying "Rainbow On Stage" the day it came out. I was about 16 years old at the time and a big Ritchie Blackmore fan. I was blown away by the album, and especially Ronnie's vocals on "Catch The Rainbow" and "Mistreated". I was an instant fan, and was gutted when Ronnie and Ritchie parted company. However, Ronnie then went on to join Black Sabbath, and their debut album together "Heaven & Hell" was just fantastic. Easily up there with the Ozzy years Sabbath albums in my opinion. I was lucky enough to see Sabbath touring that album, so although I never saw Ronnie with Rainbow I did get to see what I consider to be the next best thing. Sadly, the sound in the venue was a complete mess, but that's another story. So why the 3 stars when I've just raved about how great Ronnie is? Well, I think it's because in both Rainbow and Sabbath, Ronnie had a great writing partner (Blackmore and Iommi respectively) and the songs were great. The vocals and guitar (and other instruments) were slaves to the song, the result more often than not greater than the sum of the parts.Sure, the band members in Dio are technically great, and the production and sound quality is great, but the songs, in the main, are just not as good as the aforementioned work he did in my opinion. Whereas I loved all the sword and sorcery stuff in Ronnie era Rainbow and Sabbath, here it often sounds contrived and dare I say a little bit corny at times. That said, there are some good songs in there, and I'm probably being harsh only because Ronnie set the bar so high.

Best Dio Compilation I Know Of
This is the best compilation by Dio that I am aware of. It contains my favorite song by Dio, Don't Talk to Strangers ( Dio's first 3 albums are his best work in my opinion). The mastering rocks well enough. I wanted to get Dio's Remastered box set, but I missed the opportunity to get it for 25 dollars earlier, so I'm waiting for the price to come down, if it doesn't at least I got this cool compilation. Maybe they will eventually release Dio's first 3 albums in a remastered version seperately.
