Q: Do these (cylinders) have a hole in the bottom for a cord coming out?

No there is no hole at the bottom for the cord to come out but there is no need for a hole at the bottom. The cylinder comes apart and there is a hole on the top of each half to thread the cords through and you knot the cords and then attach the cylinder sides back together. Very easy to install and use.
