Super easy to install even on vinyl. There's some play in it which is good because my fence is not even. I had to drill the small holes and then using the electric screwdriver to put in the screws. I use two smaller drywall screws for the loop that the latch goes into because they had put concrete in the post. I'm not very handy just happened to have some tools. If I want to make sure no one opens it I can use a padlock or stick in the loopholes. Otherwise it's a quick easy close when I'm home.
