Wish it was in Supermarkets in the UK
What can I say about ketchup? I needed low sugar and this was it. I wish it was easier to get hold of in the UK, as it's actually quite expensive online. I can imagine that's due to import costs, but the only kind available from Heinz in the UK seems to be 50% reduced sugar, whereas this version is a whopping 75% reduced.- 75% Reduced Sugar = 1g carbohydrate per 15ml.- 50% reduced sugar kind is 1.8g carb per 15ml.- Regular ketchup is a whopping 3.5g per 15ml.

Heinz One Carb Ketchup
Lovely tasting ketchup - identical tasting to regular Heinz ketchup, but hardly any sugar. My only complaint is that it is very expensive. Will be buying again, nevertheless.

Expensive, but very tasty. I think it actually tastes nicer than the standard stuff.

Reduced sugar but contains sucralose instead (artificial chlorinated sugar!)
Reduced sugar is great but it contains sucralose instead which is an artificial sweetener produced by chlorinating ordinary white table sugar. The human body is not good at detoxifying itself of certain substances, including organochlorine compounds, which are organic compounds that have been chlorinated. Research has suggested that these compounds coukld be linked to birth defects, cancer and immune system dysfunction (among others). The relevant EU scientific and food safety bodies refute this evidence, but do you trust them - read about it yourself on the www.It's important that we all reduce our sugar intake, particularly our children, but not at any cost - we should all try to be as health concious as we can and stop worrying just about 'calories' which at the end of the day are meaningless. Labelling doesn't help us and is actually designed to do the opposite by attracting us to products like this without spelling out the potential dangers. The other issue is that the US are big on GM produce and goodness knows what problems that will cause for future generations (maybe none - but the fact is research has shown it could be a potential risk which is why growing GM produce is banned in half of all EU countries). Although there is no indication on the label that this is made using GM tomatos, there isn't anything saying it isn't so would advise caution and assume it is GM.Look for 'organic' products that use nothing artificial and no pesticides/preservatives during production. Heinz make a delicious Organic Ketchup - it does contain sugar but everything else is good & nothing artificial. Other brands, particularly boutique brands, produce low (or no) sugar organic ketchup (but there will be something natural to sweeten, i've seen honey for example) so explore the shelves in your supermarket and give them a try.
