The effective usage time of the filter depends on a number of factors: - Concentration of contamination - Breathing rate - Heat - Humidity - Hygiene factors, and your environment. As a role of thumb, you should change the filters when the white filter turns 50% grey as printed on the filter packaging. On the other hand it is recommended the filter should not be used longer than 2 weeks, even there is no signs of color change.

I really like my Totobobo mask and use it every time I cycle to work through London's inner city. It's a good sized pack of 10, and they easily go grey after a few trips. I can feel the difference in my throat after using the mask, so there is some evident protection. But as a previous reviewer noted, you have to take the manufacturer's word for it.It's better than cycling with no mask! I probably don't change my filters often enough, but that's due to the price of them. If they were slightly cheaper, I would be more comfortable changing them according to the manufacturer's recommendation.

Good stuff but getting over priced now.
I been using Totobobo set to cycle to work for three years now. The mask is light, it's easy to use, fine for daily commute.The mask strap is thin, after three years of use, I got a cut on the mask strap but still not breaking yet, it is quite resistant. Only thing I am not happy with will be the price, the price keep raising every year, from £18 when I first bought it to now at £24 range seems to be a bit much.

It works even in the most polluted environment
Used it when in Delhi, the most polluted place on earth. It worked and made me breathe easier. The mask is unobtrusive, light and easy to put on.

great product, stop putting the price up!
I have used these for years, they do the job but totobobo have put the price up repeatedly. i have now found another, much cheaper source for PM 2.5 filters that are just as goo( if not better) for a fraction of the cost.

Seem to have some benefit.
I think these work. They go grey after about 100 miles in the city so they must be doing something. As usual with these things we only have the manufacturers' word for it though.

After two weeks the filters become grey. It's better that "the grey" is in the filters and not in the lungs...
