Given the description and reviews I was expecting the Rolls Royce of salad spinners and by and large I wasn't disappointed, thought it's not 100% perfect. Having owned an inferior one before, I can honestly say it's worth investing in a decent spinner if you wash your leaves on a regular basis.Good things:- Design is very stylish, I love the green lid, it sits really well in our nice new kitchen- Solidly built, the handle has a really good feel and there's a certain weight and rigidity to the plastic which suggests quality materials- At first I was confused by the fact that unlike my previous spinner, this one has no holes at the bottom of the outer bowl ("where's the water going to drain?") but actually that's much better because you can place the salad inside the basket and bowl, fill with water, soak the leaves so they get a really good wash, then simply lift the basket out and drain the water out of the bowl. You can then put the basket back in and spin.Not so good things:- You can't really spin - say - a whole head of lettuce. No matter how hard you push the handle round, it can't cope with the weight so you don't get enough speed to drain the leaves properly. It needs to be done in two stages, so after washing the leaves you then have to find somewhere to put one (very wet) half of the leaves while you spin the other half. This is no different from my old one, but I expected more "power" from this product. - I don't know if my particular one is slightly defective but every few spins the gears "disengage" and you get a second where it just turns freely, making a horrible grinding noise. So it feels like I can never get the sort of speed I'd like, which is frustrating. Again, same exact thing used to happen with my old one and I thought it was just faulty, but this has the same problem.So I can't give 5 stars but I still love it and I fully expect to get a few years of use out of it.

I am very pleased about this product.The plastic container is quite large and is good quality.The lid doesn't have any clips but is clinging on tight to the base and has a fine knob.The salad spinner works very well by sucking out all the liquid.The lid has a small hole for pouring out the remaining water.If i would improve something in this product,l would like it to have a spout and i would fancy clips to keep the lid secure whilst im pouring out the liquid from it.

When i purchased this item it was because it carried a lifetime guarantee. I had tried several different models which have only lasted a short period of time. I was loving this spin bowl after using it for 18 months, however it has began to crack in several areas. I have tried to return the item but it appears its almost impossible, they are still selling this item but they don't display the warrenty. I'm not happy, now i have to look for another brand to buy as i use it often.

Every time I use this salad spinner I say to myself that I must write a review and I have finally got around to it. It is just a pleasure to use! I love the fact that you can keep the lid on it when pouring out the excess water thanks to the holes put there for this purpose. You can completely take it apart if you need to making it really easy and painless to clean (mostly just a rinse is enough though). And it spins brilliantly and effortlessly. I just wish I had come across this years ago! If you need a salad spinner or are not entirely happy with the one you have then you won’t regret buying this one!

Well made,I would say Top quality BIG salad spinner. I use it's bowl to soak the leaves before washing them, then transfer the leaves in the sieve, wash them and then spin. The gadget is very sturdy, it has rubber on the base. Easy to clean, You are able to take the lid apart if You wish, but I just run water over it. Easy to operate, the ''ride'' goes smooth without any bumps. Made from thick plastic.There is a little hole in the lid to pour the salad dressing. Im very happy with the purchase, looks like this salad drainer is going to last for a long time. Thank You for this product, Savant Kitchen!

Purchased this salad spinner after my old one died. This spinner has a nice large bowl and is very easy to use. I particularly like the fact that the inner lid mechanism comes apart for cleaning by way of a plastic 'nut'. I have had problems with previous types of spinners that this part has to be pulled off and pushed back on which makes them prone to snapping. Easy to use and clean what more can I want. It is a little bulky if you are short of space but you pays your money and you make your choice.

Works very efficiently in the traditional salad spinner way. Probably worth five stars, but I can't say if it will develop problems with prolonged use, but there is no evidence currently to suggest this. Useful to be able to remove the internal disk for cleaning - but don't lose the locking nut!

I love this salad set!!! You can put all your favourite washed salad items into this basket, give it a spin and immediately serve your dried out salad. The excess water is drained into the large base and once you drain this out you can use the base to serve your salad in, this saves on extra washing up. The product is sturdy and of good quality.An added bonus to this product is the free finger peeler, which is great and easy to use.Overall a great product and a must have in every kitchen.
