The square hole on my 2019 Ford F250 would not allow the safety chain to be inserted or removed smoothly. I have a 10000 lb trailer to pull so I had to be sure that this hammerlock would be strong enough for that capacity. It was easy to install with two people. Now safety chain hooks up easily. I wish there were some in black as I feel this color really brings attention to the hitch area and I don't need my hitch to be stolen.

We have a travel trailer and had been towing with an F350 and attaching safety cables was no problem. Then we traded for a 2018 F250 and the tow hitch changed. Safety cable clips no longer fit. Yikes! Ford made a stupid change and did not provide a way to get around it. So we got these and they are now permanently attached to our tow hitch. Makes it super easy to attach safety cables, but Ford you put us in a bind for a while until we could come up with this solution. Hammerlock, I don't know what we would have done without you!! My 2018 F350 hitch did not allow for traditional safety chains to be used easily. These not only look great but also function great. I don’t hear them clanging when not in use which I was concerned with. A must have for the Super Duty’s.

If you own a 17-19 f250 these hammer locks are perfect for your bumper/toe chains! They fit well and are easy to use.

Are use two of these on my Ford F250 super duty. Hammer link is the only way to go. Somebody won’t be stealing these like they would a C clamp that screws on. Easy to install on an F250. You just have to make sure that you drive the center pin from the right direction. The lock itself has the spring set up so you can get approximately 1/4" of the pin already in the hole and propositioned for driving it the rest of the way. I used a 16 oz. claw hammer and it took less than five minutes for both. I had to strike the pin 6-7 times for each one. Was expecting a much longer install time after reading internet reviews. GREAT PRODUCT.
