Burg-Wachter 12MMX1.2M BRAID STEEL CABLE 121C, Black, 12mm x 1.2M

Whilst I understand this is only to be used as a deterrent, the cable is quite thick and would require a power tool or similar to cut through. I purchased this to secure my EV charging cable in combination with a lock to my cars alloy spokes. The soft plastic sheathing on the cable helps prevent damage to my alloy wheels when used as a fixing point.

This cable is thick, I use it to go through my bike wheels and then lock this against the railing with my ABUS U-lock Granit XPlus lock. I'm a lot happier knowing my bike is safe(r).

I use this cable to provide extra security for my bikes ( and use a separate strong d-lock). So far it works well BUT with the benefit of hindsight I would go for a longer version 1.5m to 2m in length which should also help with the stiffness around bicycle wheel spokes.The current length is tight when you want to secure the bike front wheel to a public anchor point using the d-lock, so an extra 60-80cm would be better and easier to attach. The cable thickness is very good and should stop most opportunistic thieves, but won't stop bolt croppers or angle grinders (only solution is to bring the bike inside a safe place!). Portability for me is fine as I put it in pannier bags fitted to my bikes. If carrying separately - it would be bulky. My rating for this security cable is 9 out of 10 - but get a longer version.

I ride a motorbike, but don't have anyway of securing my big, bulky jacket when I stop anywhere. I slide the cable down one sleeve then secure it to the bike through the grab rail or rear wheel. It’s 12mm thick and at 2.1m’s, it’s long enough to do this. I don't suppose it would put off a determined thief but then again who’s going to use an huge set of bolt croppers or an angle grinder in a public car park to get a jacket? Well nobody hopefully, so I'm as happy as I can be about it and it means I don't have to carry around a heavy jacket on a hot day. You could always secure your crash helmet to the bike as well if you wanted to, but mine stows away in the top box - unless I'm carrying a passenger in which case one of our helmets will be secured by the cable.Good quality cable at a good price.Recommended.

This is a long enough security cable allowing both wheels to be looped and secured with my D-lock. Only minor niggle is I don't have a holder to fit in the bike frame or rear rack, but still worth 5 stars.

I bought this for extra security, looks the part,.But trying to get it around the bike is hopeless, the wire is coiled so strongly it took two of us to get it around the bike, even then a third person would have been useful.No thought has been put into the design, only sales oriented.If left with no recoiling made it would have been perfect, in my opinion a ripe off.

The cable looks and feels substantial for a cable. It coils to a small size, which makes it very easy to put in your bag or lock it in your D lock to carry. This is also a weakness of it, as it makes using it for locking your bike for a quick break a bit harder than I was expecting.It requires a lot of effort to pass it through something like the wheel, and then through the d lock.Hopefully though, this is a testament to its strength and the safety it provides, as much as a cable can.Overall very happy with this, and this one caveat is not enough to outweigh the benefits.

This is the only extension cable (12mm and 15mm) that is rated sold secure pedal cycle silver.
