Valuable tools to help my 6 year old navigate friendships
This is a wonderful book, touching on many aspects of friendship. Through simple text and beautiful illustrations, this story provides clear explanations and encouraging suggestions to help children navigate friendships. I bought the book in the hope of helping my 6 year old son who has struggled with how to start conversations with prospective new friends, and experienced difficulty with friendships changing. Both these areas are gently and sensitively addressed in the story and I’m delighted the importance of being yourself within a friendship is highlighted. So pleased I found this book.

Simple and profound
I bought this to read with my two daughters - we’ve recently moved to a new area and they are missing friends and struggling to make new. I wasn’t sure if it would be too young for my 10 year old, but actually she loves it and has already read it a few times! Lovely illustrations and easy to read, yet great social reminders / guidance even for us adults. Makes me want to be a better friend!

Such a sweet and engaging book all about friendship
I bought this book for my 7 year old daughter with a view to helping her navigate the sometimes tricky journey of making and being a good friend. It opened up lots of discussion around her own experiences with friendships at school and enabled us to talk about what it means to her to be a good friend, which was just what I was looking for. Plus, it was so engaging with sweet and fun illustrations. I’ll definitely be recommending it to friends with similar age children. Thank you!

A wonderful book about the ups and downs of friendship
This debut book from Catherine Stephenson is a heartwarming story that teaches children about friendship and the fact that throughout life friends come and go, friends can be different, and that friends might not always agree. It’s beautifully illustrated throughout and will make a fantastic resource for parents who want to help their young children navigate the sometimes rocky waters of friendship.

An inspirational book about friendship
A beautifully illustrated little book that will no doubt appeal to both children and parents alike. The author guides us through the true meaning of friendship, offering nuggets of wisdom and concrete ways of making new friends. Children will love the twins in the story and parents will be able to use the book to start conversations about how to treat others and what to do if you feel a bit lonely. A heart-warming debut from Catherine Stephenson.

What a great idea and so very well presented
I think this kind of educational story is absolutely great these days, especially for young children. But to be honest a lot of adults could learn a thing or two by reading this!! - Would highly recommend if your son or daughter struggles to make friends or keep friendships (although that would apply to most children at some point or another!!), it might just help them out.

If your kid is a jerk, get this book.
I bought this for my friends son who was really struggling in school, mainly because he was being such a little turd to his classmates. Sadly, no matter how many chats his parents and teacher had with him, he couldn’t seem to understand his behavior was pushing kids away, but this book has been a game changer for him. He’s been very receptive to it, asks to read it on a regular basis and is learning some skills that are truly helping him be a better person.

Cute, simple
This books ticked a lot of boxes: Just the right amount of words per page to keep the kids interested, interesting enough art with enough variety. There were a couple of confusing moments, like when it would suddenly go from informative about friendships straight into a sort of noncommital story about Freddie? Maybe it's a through-line from this author's other books, not sure. This was my first one, and I didn't quite know what was going on there. But the friendship lessons are solid and well explained. Good story!

A lovely reassuring read
A really lovely book with simple messages on friendship that are sweet but also so important. I have a 12 year old as well as a younger child and my eldest suffers insecurity when it comes to friendship. The encouragement offered in this book gave me some ideas on how to talk to her about the feelings she has and let her know that she isn’t the only one who feels that way. It also opens up discussion points with my youngest as he starts his friendship journey. Highly recommended!

My kids love it! The book is nicely illustrated, and this is such a sweet story about friendship. It really brings the positive messages to life. The colors and pictures are fun and engaging for young readers. The little activities at the back bring a good conversation with my kids too. Overall, a cute book that explores the basics of friendship in a happy way.
