MIPS adds protection
Mips. Easy straps, great fit.I tried a batfox too narrow, an abus pressure points and difficult strap. Both without Mips.I went back to California based Giro, out of the box everything was quality, comfortable and good looking. There are many helmet manufacturers on Amazon.I feel the ones who are really doing their safety research and development offer a Mips version in their line up.On average, the price is around $40 more, and worth it. I have walked away from 2 hard crashes over the past 25 years mountain biking. Both were with older model Giro helmets with mips. One model was a zen. Both helmets didn't survive the crashes, I went to work the next day unharmed and Giro prorated me replacements at a great price when I let them know what happened. All the amazon choices had me looking elsewhere, but I ended up with the best of everything staying with Giro.

Sturdy, Safe, and Comfortable!
I got it for our 11‑year‑old. The helmet feels solidly built with a durable polycarbonate shell, and the MIPS liner adds an important layer of protection against rotational impacts. It’s lightweight (around 300 g) and well-ventilated, making it comfortable even on long rides. The adjustable retention system means it fits snugly on his head without being tight, and it stays put no matter how much he moves. He says it’s really comfortable.

A helmet of great protection, the Giro Fixture MIPS is.
Protect your head, you must, and protect it well this helmet does. Crafted with the power of the Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS), it redirects crash energy like the Force itself. Strong, it is. Engineered in a lab of great skill, Giro’s design leads the galaxy in bike helmet safety and innovation.Ventilation, many channels it has—18 Wind Tunnel vents, to keep your thoughts cool even on the hottest of rides. Adjust it, easily you can. The universal X-Large fit and wide sizing range ensure comfort for all species and riders.Rugged and durable, the in-mold construction resists the dark side of trail abuse. Out of the box, fit well it did. No struggle. No fuss. Comfortable, secure, and lightweight—yes, much like a Jedi robe.In matte grey, it blends into the shadows, for those who ride with stealth. If protection and performance you seek, the Giro Fixture MIPS you must choose. Ride strong. Ride wise.

Fit's like a glove, nice air flow over my head.
I have recently become serious again about bike riding. I had a Giro years ago that saved me after coming off my road bike at 30mph and landing on my shoulder and head on the road. i have a great deal of respect for a quality helmet, It has been almost 20 years since that fall and I miss riding and feeling like a kid - and staying in shape too , so I decided to get back onto a mountain bike and get back at it. Product change over the years, bikes, gear ect. some for the good and some not so good. I read many reviews and asked different folks about helmets. I decided on the Giro again, brand recognition is one reason, saving my head from a serious concussion is another. I received the helmet a day early, out of the box it fit perfect, and the neg reviews about the straps not adjusting properly is unfounded. Chin strap is adjustable, straps fall naturally around my ears and the adjustment knob on the back is good for more warm head gear during the winter rides. As a foot note - I am 68, I was in my first bike race in 1971. The only helmet available at that time was a Styrofoam plastic thing that was supposed to cushion the fall, things have come a long way in 50 years - Thank God I always keep a helmet on my head when riding and this one is easy to wear, I didn't really notice it after a few miles. Good design, very light and very cool (I bought the white)

Actually fits big heads!
This is the first helmet that has ever fit my husband since he was a young child. We ordered it basically just to say we had tried, and he was shocked to discover it actually fits! Not perched on top of his head or squeezing his head at all. He even tightened the dial a couple clicks! His head measures 64.5 cm and the top range of this was listed as 65. It was much lighter gray than pictured, but for $30 less than all the other options we aren’t going to be picky about that. Only reason for 4 stars is that the visor seems like it is slid back and should slide down closer to the brim of the helmet, but it is fixed that way and can’t be adjusted. Looks a bit weird and may be a little less effective, but for a helmet that is actually functional and comfortable for a giant head, not worth a return for us.

Low cost without low safety
Great helmet for the price.Low price helmet, but without compromising on the safety.Plenty of adjustments for fit, which is important for its ability to take impact.Visor for added sun protection, not heavy, and looks decent.
