6CELL FIT IBM LENOVO THINKPAD X60 X60S X61 X61S REPLACEMENT BATTERY FOR LAPTOP NOTEBOOK

SUMMARYThis is a quality product and I am entirely satisfied but there is a minor FW bug in connection with IBM/Lenovo X60 laptops that create a peculiar issue.As a result, WHILST the battery is being recharged, the performance of the PC drops to some 53% of the maximum. The system is totally fine either using ONLY the battery or after the PSU has fully recharged it.This is the reason for my 4 star rating.THE BATTERYIt is made by a top manufacturer (Sanyo). The actual capacity is excellent at 6,250 mWh. Mechanically it fits perfectly my IBM/Lenovo x60 old laptop and the current delivery and stamina are excellent.THE ISSUEI am using here the most powerful PSU (90W). This charges the battery quite quickly.However WHILST doing so the system is somehow tricked to think that there is not enough peak current to run the CPUs at full clock speed. The system therefore limits the clock to 1.0 GHz, effectively halving the laptop performance.The BIOS settings of the Lenovo/IBM X60/X61 impose this as a safety feature to protect the system when powered only by the PSU and with NO battery attached, since in this case there would not be sufficient peak current to support full performance.However with an inserted and even minimally charged working battery, there is no issue since the peak current is provided by the battery itself.But with this battery the system seems to be believe that this is not the case.

fitted no probs. Seems reasonable quality. Certainly good value. First delivery didnt turn up and seems to have got lost in the post but supplier sorted things when told so I won't hold that against them. Would certainly still use them again.
