Fanatec ClubSport Shifter SQ V1.5 Stand-alone

This shifter is excellent build quality, and meets the same high quality standards as every other Fanatec product that I've purchased under the Club Sport line. I already owned the Fanatec Club Sport Wheel 2.5 and the 3.0 pedals. I'm particularly pleased with how well everything works together.The shifter has a very solid feeling in sequential mode, you know that you shifted up or down. The 7 speed mode, is also great, it feels like driving a real manual transmission car.If you are on the fence, I'd say you should buy one if you can afford one. Someday I'll probably add the handbrake too.

THREE WERE BAD IN A ROW. GAVE UP ON THIS FANATEC SHIFTER FOR NOW.Although my other sequential and H-pattern shifters work fine, the Fanatac SQ 1.5's all had problems-- THREE IN A ROW, BACK TO BACK. The first one worked for about 20 minutes, then 6th gear failed. I read possible solutions online, but ripping the unit apart would void the warranty, so I decided to return and try another. Similar issue with the second, except two gears would not be recognized properly, and the shifter never worked.Third one had a different set of gears that were problematic, and could not be recognized at all.I am tech savvy, and have other brands of shifters that all work. Would not work on any sim software we have (iRacing, rFactor 2, Assetto Corsa, etcetera)I tried the CSS SQ 1.5 Fanatec since I was hoping to have a single shifter that provided a good solid feel (as it does) and the ability to quickly change between sequential and gated shifting. However, after three attempts it makes me think that Fanatec just needs better quality control and testing. Although I see plenty of people online who have had issues with this shifter, obviously some are shipped that work well. Fanatec just needs to increase their quality control, as well as procedures for testing and validating before shipping them. Shame, as the shifter obviously had a lot of solid design engineering go into it.BTW, I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM FANATEC, DESPITE LETTING THEM KNOW THAT WE ARE EVALUATING THEIR SHIFTER AS PART OF A SERIOUS NEWSPAPER ARTICLE.Maybe I will try one again in a year, although I imagine some other options from other companies will be out soon, given the growth rate of the sim and VR industry.

A fine product, gear selection feels good.Problem: 5th to 2nd gear jump(vice versa) is very frequent. With practice, the frequency may be reduced, but it may still happen. Because shift distance between 2nd and 5th might be a bit short, it is easy to slide to an undesired gear.The package came opened and arrived late, not functioning out of the box. For others having gear selection/gear registration issue, you can't calibrate it with windows control panel, you will have to go to fanatec's official website and download their USB adapter drive. This will fix everything.

This is an amazing shifter. I previously had the thrustmaster th8a which fails in comparison to this one in almost every way. Throws are short and very tactile. Overall this just screams quality. Buy it right the first time. Skip all the others get this now.

In the past year I've bought Fanatec's Inverted pedals, CSW Wheel Base, Mclaren GT3 Wheel, and Shifter. All these products are well made quality products. It's rare these days to find well designed products crafted with quality materials. Fanatec has done this. I will continue to purchase products from Fanatec in the future.

The shifter wasn't recognised by my PC at all. I believe the included USB adapter was the fault as this alone should be detected by the PC but wasn't. Support is non-existant as Fanatec won't support you if you are outside of Europe/USA/Australia.So you can get their product shipped to NZ via Amazon but are not eligible for support.

So far so good. Just need better instructions on how to set everything up and get it calibrated

Yum...What else can I say. I won't waste your time with the details as there are plenty of sim racing websites that say it better (check out The SimPit's review). I will say, however, if you are looking for a very solid, near-realistic shifter this is the one to get!
