Great product. Easy to put up & great thermal properties
Bought this after reading other good reviews. Have used it on external walls and the heat retaining effect is excellent, as well as giving a smooth flat surface for further lining paper & emulsion. Provided you are thorough with your decorating preparation, and use correct wallpaper paste to water ratio (I used ratio for blown vinyls), this product adheres to the wall well & doesn't peel away. Another tip: forget the how-to-hang diagram & apply across the wall rather than top to bottom. Start at the skirting level; after pasting the wall, take the whole roll (don't pre-cut the length) & apply the Poly' Lining paper to the wall working from left-to-right (if left handed work right to left) & cut to size. Repeat the process until the whole wall is lined. When you later apply a paper lining paper, hang that as normal (ceiling to skirting) & emulsion. Good preparation before using the product is the main thing. I also pasted the walls with Glue-past and allowed to dry prior to pasting the wall and putting the Poly Lining paper up. Excellent product & brilliant result!!

Happy
This would've got 5 stars but slightly damaged on arrival. Got this to help with wall that gets slightly mouldy. Good to work with and so easy to apply. Very happy with end result, so warm to touch. Hoping problem resolved re mould

Instantly transforms a cold exterior wall.
I love this item. It comes very well packaged, does exactly what it says on the sales pitch, and is very cheap. I must say it was a testing time applying this to the walls as it is very thin, however, take your time and you will get used to this. Once applied it is a very good, effective, insulating material, you can feel the difference straight away just by touching the walls. Rather than a freezing cold wall (i live in an old thick walled building) the walls are actually warm! I would recommend this to anyone who has condensation damp issues as i am sure it is going to help with that over the winter months. Make sure you use the correct adhesive and you can't go wrong. I have also wallpapered over this with anaglipta paper and will be painting over the top of that as well.

Does the job
Great product, we bought it to insulate a fireplace alcove which had partly external wall which is always really cold. This had caused minor damp problems in the past. As we were having shelves and a cupboard built in the alcove we bought this product to protect against future issues. We sealed the plaster with anti-damp paint, then put this wall insulation up using Wallrock Thermal Liner adhesive as recommended. You have to be relatively careful with it as it's delicate, but I didn't have any issues and it's easy to fill in small holes/gaps. Once it was up, the cold external brick wall was room temperature to touch which should prevent condensation issues causing damp. I used Wallrock Fibreline 150 lining paper to go over it. Any "paste the wall" lining paper should work though. Apparently normal lining paper expands on pasting, then shrinks as it dries and this can pull the polystyrene insulation off the wall. I just used the remaining adhesive to put the lining paper up. Very happy so far, and expecting a nice dry wall when winter comes.

Highly recommend
Easy to install and the difference is amazing in my old home. No more damp wet cold closet or cold internal walls in my living room that are externally exposed. Temps were recorded with the heating on at 15. Feels a lot warmer in my living room too and I only used it within the panels on the lower level. Easy to install and you can paint over or wallpaper like I did in my closet. Highly recommend.

Its Good but BEWARE...
I'm a novice when it comes to DIY but I had set my mind to it and gave it a go. Although the roll is somewhat delicate and brittle, I still found it very easy to hang and any cracks and damage I made to it in the process were easily fixed. It covered up an uneven, pitted wall perfectly and with some filler in any gaps or breakages, it looked very much like my amateur skills had pulled off a professional job and I was very proud. I now had a new smooth and insulated wall! Step 2 was to apply lining paper so I could paint it. I left the polystyrene and filler to dry for 24 hours and then I went to work with some plain budget lining paper. With my confidence boosted, adding a degree of patience and care, I was able to do a fairly good job of this too. At the end it looked like I had finally revamped an otherwise ugly interior wall... I left it all to dry for another 24 hours... ...Unfortunately, it seems the so called "super strong" wallpaper adhesive I had decided to purchase having spied it in the the "frequently purchased together" section wasn't quite so strong as it claimed. My almost perfect job fell off the wall within hours of drying!! I had to attempt a frustrating rescue (all those pain staking hours wasted!)Having purchased some decent adhesive I tried to stick the paper back on. Of course by this point it was never going to look as good. Really I needed to rip the whole lot off and start again. I may still do so if I fail to remove the bubbling and creases I've been left with... MAKE SURE YOU BUY AN APPROPRIATE ADHESIVE and you'll have a good result!
