Top five favorite movie
Just a beautiful movie that inspires divorced parents who have difficulty bonding with their kids. An unhappy Chef Carl virally explodes on a food critic under stress from an over-controlling restaurant owner. His journey back from Miami is the foundation for bonding with his son. In one scene, he explains, "I may not have been the best father or husband, but I am good at this; it's how I reach people, and I want to share that with you."Being a divorced parent, this movie hit me in the feels because we miss so much of our kids' lives because we don't get to see them every day and don't get to help them navigate the nuances of life, except for every other weekend, in most cases. This beautiful movie inspires hope.

A feast for the eyes
This had me at the end of the opening credits. I loved everything about this film. I literally can't say enough good things about it. I didn't know much about it before viewing and what a feast for the eyes it turned out to be.It's about Carl Casper played by and directed by the awesomely talented Jon Favreau. Carl is a chef in a restaurant owned by a controlling boss played by the brilliant Dustin Hoffman, which one night is visited by an influential food critic who subsequently gives it a bad review. Carl then decides to reply using Twitter with which he is not familiar and so the message he thinks he sent to the critic goes viral and ends with him leaving his job. Ultimately it turns out to be blessing in disguise as he flies to Miami to visit the ex husband of his ex wife with whom he is still friendly as they share custody of the their very media savvy 10 year old son. He acquires a food truck in Florida, which along with his son and friend they clean refurbish and set out across America cooking up treats to fantastic scenery and music and loads of very happy customers. What I liked best about this film apart from the totally believable performances from the Carl and his on screen son Percy, was the realistic the feel the movie had all the way through. When the Carl and team rolled up into the various places they visited such as New Orleans and Austin, Texas it really looked genuine. I wanted to be in the queue smelling the delicious food they were cooking up in the ever present sunshine, listening to live music maybe drinking something cool and soaking the very chilled atmosphere. Needless to say there is a lot of laughter involved too. This is the only film I have seen of recent years where I wanted to on finishing replay immediately. I will be buying this as again this only film I have seen recently where I completely forgot what was going on around me and lost myself completely while watching it. Couldn't recommend highly enough, a very relaxing and calming film that will hopefully put a smile on your face and leave you wanting more.

This movie made me very hungry. 🥪🍖🥗👨🏻🍳
They make Cuban sandwiches. Beef brisket. All kinds of tasty lookin' food. If you aren't at least a little hungry after watching this, I don't know how to help you. 😆The movie itself is pretty good.Guy runs a kitchen but, gets roasted by a critic. He freaks out. Decides to start a food truck. It then becomes a road trip movie.Very funny. Some things are a little dated. Like, the whole social media thing is kinda whatever. But, the whole cast makes up for it. John Leguizamo and Robert Downey Jr are the stand outs. Great movie. 5/5

Entertaining and delectable!
It's Jon Favreau! 'nuf said.Actually, it is a fun movie with a gastronomic journey that is a joy to wander through. I haven't seen Oliver Platt for quite some time on the screen, so it was a delight to watch him again. As usual, although in a brief cameo, Robert Downey Jr. was his usual witty and obnoxious self. He's great! Robert is so versatile, from the varied roles that he's played over the years, and his music... Scarlett Johansson was marvelous... as was Dustin Hoffman's brief appearance - an enjoyable ensemble cast of a who's-who of familiar faces. Jon's direction of this journey of self-actualization and realization, and re-discovery left me with a positive after-taste. I totally enjoyed the movie when I first watched it on Netflix; leading me to purchase a copy for myself. Watching all the food, and getting some meal ideas from the movie was a bonus.

A movie I have been looking for, in a while.
Chef is a movie I have watched on the Movie Network a few years back and I really liked it. It's simple and yet quite good at what it's going for. It's a great drama/family movie and each actors played their roles really well. The included Deleted Scenes even made me appreciate the movie more because as ironic as it might seem, I'm really like that they removed those part as I didn't liked quite a few of them. (Yeah, the editing was good.)If you're looking for a family oriented movie about food and life orientation, this is a pretty good movie that might be just enough to fill you plate!
