perfect for mushrooms
I used this to dehydrate mushrooms overnight and it worked perfectly, its heating range is right where you need it. Bigger shrooms can be broken down to fit inside the racks. It is easy to setup and easy to wipe clean. I added some silicone dryer sheets cut down in size to fit - "(8 Pack) Round Silicone Dehydrator Sheets, Dostk Premium Non Stick Silicone Mesh for Fruit Dehydrator, Tray Liner Reusable (Round 13" Diameter)" I would recommend this dehydrator to anyone for similar usage. I had no negative issues with mine.

Suits My Needs
Great quality dehydrator with multiple heating levels. It is designed in layers, allowing you to remove and add as needed, this is a great design and also allows the dehydrator to fit where need be. I will say it dehydrates faster when using less layers. This works well at dehydrating mushrooms or whatever else you can cut into slices. For this price point, you can't go wrong!

small yet efficient
Bought this dehydrator just because of the low price in a strapped economy. It is smaller in size than I thought it would be even though the dimensions were plainly illustrated by the seller. Good news is that even with the small diameter it comes with 5 trays that can be expanded a smidge in height between the trays, and is large enough to suit the needs for anyone looking to dehydrate fruits or vegetables. My first time with this particular item was 2 trays of apple slices, 2 trays of orange slices, and 1 tray of sliced banana. 140 degree setting and 6 hours time everything came out suitable. Bad news is if you are wanting to dehydrate on a larger scale then you should look into a larger piece of equipment. I am rating this 4 of 5 stars until I find out the overall durability. If it goes down after a couple or few uses I will amend this review to reflect that.

Easy to set up and use.
I'm dehydrating mushrooms and beef jerky with this. The Commercial Chef Food Dehydrator has become an essential part of my kitchen arsenal. I'm also making preserved fruits and veggies, this machine does it all with ease. Setting it up was a breeze, and the intuitive controls make it simple to adjust the temperature and drying time to achieve perfect results every time. The 280W power ensures efficient dehydration without consuming excessive energy. I love the spacious design with five drying racks, providing ample room to dehydrate large batches of food. Plus, the slide-out tray makes loading and unloading a breeze, saving me time and hassle. The quality of dried foods produced by this dehydrator is top-notch, retaining nutrients and flavors without any additives or preservatives. It's not just a kitchen appliance; it's a gateway to healthier snacking options for me and my family. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. If you're in the market for a reliable and efficient food dehydrator, look no further than the Commercial Chef Food Dehydrator. Highly recommended!

I Bought This To Make Dog Treats For My Min Pin
Follow the directions to clean your unit before using. I love that the trays are clear plastic so I can watch the progress but they are hard and would probably break if dropped. The dehydrator is compact enough to fit on my narrow kitchen counter and lightweight. The manual that comes with it is written well unlike some other products made in China. There is a guide for dehydrating fruits and vegetables but nothing for meat. I bought this to make chicken breast dog treats and after researching online I found an excellent way to do this...use precooked, boneless, skinless chicken breast. Slice the breast into long thin strips and place on the dehydrator trays. Use the highest setting and check the progress periodically--mine took about 4 hours to get the desired crunchiness, if you want a more chewy treat you can use less time. Precooked meat goes faster and also protects against bacteria growth that can occur in raw meat at low temperatures. My Min Pin loves his treat and I am happy that it is healthy for him with no added chemicals. I also made banana chips which are delicious--14 hours at 135 degrees F. Next time I will make my chips at a higher temperature for more crispiness. I love, love, love this product and just ordered cheese cloth from Amazon to line the trays (to prevent debris from falling into the bottom). This is better than my friends' more expensive models. Get it but be gentle with it and follow the directions. The cord is short but works fine on my kitchen counter. I plan to use it every day. I am currently making apple chips. Thank you Amazon for another affordable product that improves my life and that of my little Min Pin!

Perfect Size for Herbs - Leftovers etc. Runs like a champ!
I have a larger dehydrator but wanted something smaller for a few leftover berries, veggies, small amounts of herbs or small liquids. I got this & have been using it for 5 yrs & it works great. The only thing is with the smaller 9 inch trays - I can't find trays for fruit leather or liquids and finer screens for herbs... so I did cut window screening material & that has worked great... I cut some silicone mats but only for small amts of liquid since there is no "lip"... So that is the ONLY "con" I have for this small one... but I use is quite a bit & it's been running great so far for 5 yrs.

Draws power when turned off
I use this dehydrator to dry PETG primarily and while it does the job, it has its quirks. Like the heating temperature has been consistently 10°F lower than the knob says it is. And even when “turned off”, it still draws power if it’s plugged into the wall. I’m sitting across the room from it and I can hear it *click* on once every minute and draw 250 Watts for several seconds and *click* off. I haven’t used it to dry filament for four days now. It’s warm to the touch. Which means it’s been actively drawing power for four days without my knowledge. It might never get hot enough to burn down your house, but it’s weird that it doesn’t actually turn off. If you get this, I recommend plugging it into a smart timer or some other way to automatically shut off power.

Got pups?
This is the best buy ever! We have 4 dogs ( small ones, stop laughing) and buying jerky at the store was really expensive, plus you cant be sure what other stuff is put in the jerky! So, bought this cool gadget, thinly sliced boneless chicken breasts, put ‘em in the dehydrator ( there are 5 levels)….and several hours later….JERKY! Just chicken, no additives, just the bird. The dehydrator has several temperatures, which is great. You can put the raw chicken in it, turn it on a lower temp, go to bed, and see how it did overnight., Voila! Great Jerky, dogs love it! No more crappy stuff…..just the dried meat! Can do turkey or beef too! Saves us big $$$!
