small in size but still very functional for any man with a beard
I have had a beard most of my adult life. I keep it reasonably short, about the length of 1-2 months hair growth. Up to now I have been using my usual hair brush and/or comb to groom my beard. But I recently started using beard oil and thought it might be worthwhile to have a dedicated comb for my beard to use after applying beard oil. This Beardclass comb and brush set contains a wooden comb, a brush, and small keychain mustache comb, and a small pair of scissors. Included is a fabric bag to keep everything in, although I leave the comb and brush out on my bathroom counter. The bag would be handy for travel usage, though. The comb and brush are a lot smaller than I anticipated. In length they are about 2/3 the length of a typical small plastic pocket comb. The wooden comb is twice the width of a pocket comb, though, as it has a fine tooth comb on one edge and a wider tooth comb on the other edge. The wooden comb is quite attractive in appearance, and its small size still seems adequate for grooming a shorter beard like mine, although it might be less useful for someone with a really long beard. The brush has an odd central depression among the bristles, which are fairly short. I'm not sure why this is, but it does not seem to hinder brushing my beard. Like the comb, though, it may not be as useful for someone with a really long beard due to the short bristles. Quite honestly, I think this brush was designed for shining shoes and not as a hair brush. I'm not sure I have any use for the tiny mustache comb keychain. It's not something I would carry in my pocket, so it really has no value to me. The small scissors seem to be better quality than I anticipated. They have a nice rounded tip making them very safe not only for mustache or beard trimming but also to trim eyebrow or nose hair. So the scissors are definitely useful.Overall, this is a nice beard grooming set. It comes nicely packaged and would make a very suitable stocking stuffer or gift. It would be nicer if the comb and brush were a little larger, and this is the sole reason for docking it a star. It is worth the money I spent, though, and I am certain I will use the comb and brush often.

Interesting box - buy for the brushes.
I can't say it's an awful box, but I'm not sure I'm going to buy it again either. There''s a lot of good about it. The combs and brushes seem to be quite nice and durable. This was the main reason I bought it, and they are nice. There's even a little portable keychain comb I quite like. The scissors aren't anything to write home about. They're offset and the holes are small, but they seem durable. The mustache scissors seem cheap, but it's not that expensive of a box. They're safety and certainly decent for a trim. The thing I didn't like were the oil and balm. They're unscented, and that makes me think the essentials were certain skipped on. The beard oil is supposed to have tea tree oil and sweet almond oil and I can't smell either. It also lacks the little feeling one gets from Tea Tree Oil - I have Smooth Viking oil and it's much more present. The beard balm is supposed to have tea tree, rosemary oil, orange oil, and lavender oil and again - unscented and you don't know it's there.Maybe if you have issues with fragrance, but I like a little bit of a clean scent, However, value for price is pretty good. 3.5/5. :)

Good product overall, but durability may be a problem.
I received the BeardClass kit as a gift for Father's day this last Sunday & have now had a few days to use & test the products. Overall I find the bulk of the care products to be excellent, especially the brushes, beard oil, & beard balm. However the one major downside was in the larger of the two combs. After about a day or so of use I quickly found that I liked the larger comb & the way it glided smoothly through my beard. As I am newly growing my beard & training it I chose this comb as my "pocket comb" to come through & train the the hair throughout the day. Bad decision, unfortunately after one day at the office in my pocket two & a half teeth broke off. Now perhaps that comb may not have been meant to travel in my pocket, but there also wasn't much info about the products inside to give that notion either. Aside from the comb, the rest if the kit is a good value & the beard care products are good sized and not simply trial sizes. I would definitely recommend the kit to a friend, just leave the comb at home.

Wooden comb is nice, but not worth $16 without bonus items
This only gets 4 stars because of the way the product is described and the fact that there are "bonus items".Without the bonus items, I would give it 3 stars because $16 for a comb is too much money. However, it appears to be only $10 now which I think is a reasonable price considering it's made of wood and double sided. As for the comb itself.... it's a nice comb. its sturdy and does not cause any static cling. The bonus items were actually nice too. I don't use the boar hair brush that much, but the scissors and mini comb work fine and appear to be of good quality. My only real issue is the way this product is described and fear of a potential bait and switch....It is listed as a beard comb and includes bonus items. My concern is that it gets high ratings for the total package and then they stop offering the "bonus items".If they listed this as a total beard grooming kit..... I would honestly give this 5 stars because the value and quality are really good for the price. But because it is sold as a beard comb that includes bonus items, I cannot know if the bonus items will last and based on the comb alone... the comb isn't worth $16 in my opinion.
