Epson T0714 - Print cartridge - yellow
Epson original ink jet cartridges can be cripplingly expensive and have driven me to switch to cheaper compatible cartridges from other suppliers varying results. My Epson SX400 combined printer seems spooked by Epson to display a message saying the printer cannot recognise the cartridge often during the life of a so-called compatible cartridge. What it means is I'm not going to do another thing for you until you buy my maker's expensive original cartridge. you take the machine to an Epson service agent you are in more trouble because as soon as they discover the non-original cartridges in the machine they tell you that you have invalidated your warranty so you get more charges and they may even tell you, like I was, that the machine has failed because of using the wrong ink so buy a new one Now for the good news. You can buy them about half price online though to get the best deal you may have to have your order split by Amazon to get the cheapest price for each colour but I have found it works smoothly so far. The postage and packing costs sometimes are as expensive as the cartridge but overall I reckon I'm saving 50% on the cost, my printer is happy because it's being fed original cartridges and I am not being held to ransom with the price. Until Epson realise there is a recession on and cut their prices to an attractive level this is the way I am going to shop for my cartridges.

Good ink, decent price
Good price for the branded ink. Lasts much better than refills

Good ink
I have owned a few Epson products over the years, and recently bought myself a Stylus SX215 for proof-printing (I reviewed it on Amazon). I bought a few of these cartridges to go with it. So far they seem to be working fine. They seem a bit over-packed to me - they come in a very pretty plastic pack with cut-to-open top that then rips apart. Inside, the cartridge is sealed in an airtight plastic bag. You get a leaflet which advises about installing the cartidge (and helpfully warns against drinking the ink!) in umpteen languages.I've had no problems with them so far. In my old Lexmark printer, the cartridges would dry up in a matter of days, but these Epsons ones stay working nicely even though I don't use the printer very often. One last thing - the price for these on Amazon is competitive. I choked at the absurd price Sainsbury's charges for them (I think they were about £20 each). At that rate it's cheaper to buy a new SX215 printer/scanner instead, that comes with FOUR cartridges!

Replacement Ink Cartiridges
We are all trying to cut down on expenditure right now, so, when I needed new ink for my Epson printer, I decided to give the Amazon site a try; mainly as my husband had several good buys this way. When I saw some of the prices on offer I was a little sceptical but, as I was buying via Amazon, I decided to go ahead. I am so pleased I did. The quality is first class and the prices are just fantastic. I will certainly be returning when I need more ink - or anything else for that matter. Thanks.

Good product eventually
Unfortunately, when I went to use this ink, my PC/printer advised that the product was incompatible with my printer. Knowing that this should not be the case, I contacted the seller to advise of my issue. Despite my order having been a while ago, the seller offered to replace or refund. I chose a replacement and this duly arrived (somewhat delayed due to the Christmas post issues), but am pleased to say this cartridge worked and I am able to print once again. Therefore, I have given three stars as the first cartridge was defective and I had to contact the seller, but I was happy with the response from the seller to resolve the issue.
