The Good: 2 Channel 90W (nice and loud but not much bass without a subwoofer) Great design and finish Easy to set up The Mids and Highs sound very precise and not overpowering or overwhelming Dialog Enhancer works great A nice amount of options in the setup *still lacking in this area though You can change the crossover frequency, which is nice, because you can match it to your subwoofers Hz The Bad: Tone controls are so minute and the most disappointing thing about this unit for me, Bass goes from 1 to 6 but it barely makes a difference, The EQ is not much help in getting those lows to sound right either, Because you can only mess with the 60Hz as the lowest frequency (as that is what Denon has allowed as its lowest Hz on the EQ to be modified/changed) So even with the 60Hz tab all the way up the lows/bass is just not good enough, So you will really need a decent Subwoofer to get any amount of good low frequencies, but (and its a big but if you like balanced lows) don't expect (even good) bookshelf speakers to be able to give out balanced lows especially 90-70Hz or lower with this unit, Which is a shame because my Yamaha AVR which was replaced by this unit, handled the lows much better on the same bookshelf speakers (Rated at 95W per channel and 45Hz low range) If you are buying for just a surround sound AVR (to watch movies and gaming) then im sure you will be very happy But for a 2 channel 90W Music listener/enthusiast you might be a little disappointed by the sound quality
